This is totally inconsequential but if anyone's interested....
Godot
21-08-2003
....I just saw and spoke to Ray. I was with my son in his meeja club (Century) having a quick dinner on the roof garden and Ray came in on the next table to join a couple of Asian guys. When we left, I said to Ray, 'You cost me shedloads of cash in phone calls, trying to stop that bleep winning. I just kept voting for you and Scott even though I knew I was wasting my time, because the winner was a foregone conclusion.'
He said, 'He's a nice guy.'
I said, 'He's not.Trust me, I'm a psychologist.' (which, inter alia, I am, sorry Ben)
He laughed.
I said, 'At least you were real, losing it, and drinking too much, and crying, and going for a w*** under the duvet'
He said,'Oh don't! That's really embarassing!' and giggled.
And that was about it. He was 'Ray' - whatever that means - normal and natural and human, and Irish and warm, but scripted to endorse Shameron.
He was wearing that grey/black/white striped shirt. He didn't look round to see who was looking at him, which is always a good sign, nor did he gawp at the celebs who frequent that club, but since they're mostly directors, writers and producers and not reality-show contestants, that isn't surprising . He's obviously very hyper. But he was OK, and he wasn't hamming it up so that people would notice him.
OK, I said it was inconsequential. Just wanted to share.....
It's a pity that he keeps churning out that, 'He's a nice guy' rubbish, isn't it?

thanks for that, godot, that's a pretty good story.
(i've been for a curry tonight and didn't see anyone of any consequence...i must move in the wrong circles)

I had an M&S CTM at home and met nobody of any consequence either.
Is Thursday curry night on DS then?

Thanks for sharing that Godot.
Maybe Ray's not had a chance to view any video footage in his mad social whirl or perhaps Cameron really is a nice guy in his opinion? He's never been on the receiving end of Cameron's vitriol so he has no reason to dislike him.
Ray's nasty side was possibly more unpleasant than Cam's but at least he was "real" and wasn't worried about letting us see him warts and all.

Or maybe there's a bit of post-BB4 spin going on?

PS: mine was a lamb rogan-josh!

Of course Ray's not going to say anything controversial to a total stranger

He's probably already learned that if he did say anything there's the chance it would end up as:

BB Loser Ray Rips Into Cam The Sham

Big Brother runner-up Ray Shah launched a bitter attack against the competitor who beat him in the series, we can exclusively reveal.

"He's a fecking ****, I couldn't stand him the whole time he was in the house and I've no fecking idea what was going through the minds of the people who voted for him to win," ranted the Irishman.

Ray, who entertained millions of viewers with his antics in the Big Brother house this year also commented that there was one incident he was less than proud of.

When asked about the now infamous trip to the toilet under his duvet, randy Ray cringed and replied: "'Oh don't! That's really embarassing!".

(Please note this post is a spoof, an exaggeration, a joke and is not meant to be taken seriously, nor does it represent the true views of Ray Shah).

Just a thought but don't you think that someone who had lived alongside Cam for 9 weeks would know what he's like more than people who have never met him?

Yes, and that same person would know it would be better to play the whole thing down.

Can you imagine Ray and Cameron hitting it off in real life?

i'd say it was a shame that people are so unable to accept what ray, who, like, lived in the house with Cameron all that time thinks, to the point where you accuse him of having been *scripted to endorse Cameron*.

None of them, even if they have reservations about Cameron, would comment for that obvious reason.

If and I repeat IF (with necessary disclaimer please note Iain....lol) this is to believed it would seem Ray does not have these reservations you speak of about all his HMs, wonder why the exception for Cameron then?.

Surely the point would be that Ray's learning by his mistakes and now knows to follow the party line, so to speak.

Who's to say he didn't hear about that comment of his being posted online
Elderflower
22-08-2003
It is indeed possible that that is the case, and arguably there is also a difference between any such comments he makes about other housemates as opposed to Cameron (being the winner) as being seen to be knocking the bloke who beat him could just be taken as sour grapes. However, from odd snippets on the BB diaries, and never seeing it reported anywhere otherwise, it does seem he has always been consistent in his view that he genuinely liked Cameron.

Ray came second to Cameron, so any negative comment about Cameron would have been seen as sour grapes.. Of course, it could be he really likes Cameron.

Making negatives comments about Jon has being acceptable from the very beginning... we have weeks of them going to the DR and making them... There isn't a need for him to change his tune. Ray isn't the sharpest guy around and we have seeing how he changed his reading of people all the time and him expressing opinions about others was very much affected by how much he has been drinking.

He was in a pub drinking with friends... Here comes a person that makes a nice comment about Jon... Some of them IMO resent how popular Jon is... so explectives come along. I wouldn't be surprised it this was the scenario.. but of course this is jus speculation on my part.
