I could care less about posters actually posting while the show is in progress, I'll be too busy watching!
The only problem is that the posts invariably end up in the episode review thread, which means I have to wade through all the boring "instant reaction" to get to what people are then saying about the episode as a whole.

Perhaps starting an "instant reaction" thread would be better than the "blackout" the OP suggested?

Anyway, after tonight, such actions will be impossible for a while!

I completely agree with this. When you get whole pages full of posts consisting of "OMG!" "OMG!" "omg did u see that?" "wtf Omg" "what just happened omg!"

Those people definately need their own seperate "instant reaction" thread. I'm sorry if they are lonely or whatever and don't have anybody else to watch it with or talk to about it. And then they are so busy posting about one thing, they miss somehting else and you get "what happened there I missed it!" and it all ends up a big jumble.

1. It isn't an 'episode review thread' no where in the title does it say such a thing. It is a thread for discussion of the episode both before, during and after the show.

2. An instant reaction thread is a bad idea in the sense that it will cause confusion when people turn up on the board not knowing where they are supposed to be posting.

3. You don't have to 'wade through' anything...the forum allows you to skip past the early pages if you don't want to read them.

As a generally note, I personally think some people in this thread have got a real cheek critizing people for exercising their free will. If people don't want to post and watch that is cool, but for those of us that want to we are entitled to do so without having people make personally abusive comments about us. Who the hell do you lot think you are???

Human beings excercising said free will.
(I didn't make any abusive comments and if anyone else did that's out of order, although I didn't see any. I didn't read the whole thread though. I just think it's silly when it gets to the stage where people miss funny or important lines or something important visually on screen because they are busy posting "omg haha that was funny". That's my personal opinion expressed using free will I'm not telling anybody what to do or being abusive.)

I completely agree Muttley, the new thread that has been started to post on in the show is a complete waste of time and just duplicates the exisiting epsiode thread which should be for posting about the episode regardless of when - before, during and after.

It was meant to be sympathetic. My apologies if it didn't across that way.
