I can't remember. If he has, it seems odd that he suddenly takes a fancy to him this time but didn't before.

Quite an odd story this.

How old is Nick? I'm sure he must be in his 20's so surely he would know he was gay by now but last time we saw him he was all over Maria.

Same for Tod, at his age (18/19?) he should at least have an idea that he might be gay.

Mind you its not as bad as Brookie's story where Jackie Corkhill suddenly became a lesbian, and then stole her daughthers girlfriend. (But then a few weeks ago Jimmy got a letter from her which said she was getting married again, so shes changed back now.. no wonder brookies ending..)

Nah, she didn't decide to turn lesbian. It was Shelley leading her on!

I totally don't think Nick and Todd are suitable for the gay story

I stopped watching Brookie from about 1999 until the seige last year as I couldnt keep up with the ever changing times, and rediculous story lines

Back on topic...I agree that Todd and Nick arn't suitable. Don't know which is worse, this or the Roy and Tracy story line!

IMHO, i think the Roy and Tracy is worst. I just cannot believe that Corrie actually went ahead with that awful storyline.

This storyline is not unbelievable, but just unlikely for these two charcters to get it together.

If your read the Digital Spy news article, it says Nick is mortified so I guess Todd makes an advance, and not that Nick is gay.

Ah..the old Byker Grove gay storyline.

In that, it went something like 'Young Man struggling with his sexuality, comes onto a male friends after reading the signals wrong, friend is mortified and storms off'.

Always a cracker when you want to bring in a juicy gay storyline. And so much more likely than just a happy, well rounded gay person who doesn't fancy anyone living remotely near him but has a great social life and doesn't need them as he's at it like rabbits anyway...

aah, Noddy from Byker Grove!

It ran for about 1/10 of three episodes and then Noddy found a boyfriend and disappeared off into the night.

And as I recall, they drove off in a black jeep -- which is why Russell T Davies [a big soap fan] specified the same sort of vehicle for Queer As Folk

Well, as the starting point that can prompt a young man to consider his own sexuality, crushes on people they already know are surprisingly common.

If this storyline was to blow over and there be no long-term change to Todd's character, and his relationship with his family and friends would not be changed in some way as a result, then it would be inappropriate.

But Gay.com UK reckons there will be 'long-term repercussions'. I hope they're right.

I think this is a pointless storyline, not only is Todd converting to being a gay person but he fancies his girlfriends brother, I don't know how believable that is. Anybody ever seen experiences where a man goes out with his girlfriends brother. I certainly haven't!

Well I haven't seen it personally, but it doesn't seem too far fetched to me! Read a few women's magazines and you'll see that these things do happen in real life! (I only read them for research purposes, of course!)

Lol, the bizarre storylines that the writers have come up with at EE is quite funny. I remember both of them storylines, though the one with Tiffany's mum and Grant has got to be the funniest ever!

No but if you'd watched Eastenders a few years ago, you would have seen this with the Tony/Tiffany/Simon story

I think it is quite plausible. If you are young and confused then the people you are most likley to confuse your feelings for are those you are already close to - those that are affectionate to you because they are a close friend or non-blood family. The fact Todd is fairly inexperienced in life in general would also point to why if he was having doubts about his orientation then he's unlikely to hot foot it to town to a gay bar to see if he can pick someone up and test his feelings for real. The scope of corrie is limited and they are doing reasonable well with what they've got I feel. I'll wait to see the episode to conclude for sure.

can you try and explain why you think I'm wrong rather than just insulting me by swearing at me. I won't resort to your brainless level of abuse, but if you've got something serious to say, say it and I'll happily listen, otherwise, just try and grow up.
I actually have personal experience of something very similar happening to a close friend which is why I don't feel it's that unlikely - what makes you so keen to disagree in such an obnoxious way?

Sorry matey, wasn't meant as a direct hit at you, but I was just amazed by that statement....

I'm sure that any gay person would agree....

Having 2nd hand experience from someone you know is not the same as having first hand knowledge. Trust me.
