Indeed, I think you've hit the point right there Kym, everone has assumed Caan meant one of the Doctor's companions when he really was referring to himself

Caan said one shall die (faithful companion) - this could have been davros as well, since caan fotold it it he new on shall die.

Caan said one shall still die - the other Dr shall die.

Also put this in other ways, death can be seen in may ways - Donna (mind wiped sho in a way she dead to all in battle, caan may not have known what the doctor could do)
Rosi is more or less dead as she is not trapped in Parralle universe.

So in a sense there was death (Devros, Donner, Human Dr version and Caan). You could also say Orginal Dr has changed.



Just one thing though, if the plants where returned, earth was taken back , they not travel back in time so does this mean alot of humans had died.
