Supreme Dalek - letdown?
CloverJuice

I just think in the overall storyline the Supreme Dalek didn't really serve much of a purpose, only as a spokesperson for them all

Was a bit let down by it tbh but thats probably my fault for speculating too much

just thought they could have made more out of it and there was nothing particularly "supreme" about it...

Yeh it would have been better if it was the Master or something.... I probably built my hopes up too much too though

Yeah i thought that. I thought Jack's gun wasn't going to be enough and there would be a big battle. I guess they ran out of budget.

Supreme Daleks have been used before in the original series, and their purpose was to control all the other Daleks like a leader.
PR.

Yes, why was he supreme, and why did he have Davros 'locked' in the basement?

The immobile but supremely powerful Emperor Dalek was so much better though, both visually and storyline wise!

I know. They really ridiclued the Daleks during those "And.... spin." minutes. Then the only Dalek I thought could add some action gets blasted by Jack within seconds. I know he's a fast worker but that's just daft.

And he didn't even have to be in the same proximity as the Doc

I've had chicken that was more supreme than he was. Come to think of it I recall it was called 'Chicken Supreme'. Amazing coincidence eh!

Like it.

It was a waste of red paint that thing.

Considering all the photoshoots etc I would've thought there would at least have had to be a harder way of defeating the postbox than the others.

The Supreme Dalek didn't disappoint me, probably because I didn't believe there was anyone inside the casing to start with

Yeh I think what they did with caan made up for it. Supreme or Davros were never in charge at all. Caan pulled the strings, he was in charge.

I didn't believe there was anyone in there but a dalek either, I just thought there would be more to it/more screentime/better purpose/harder to beat etc

I agree I loved Caan these eps. Good to know the Cult of Skaro did their jobs and thought like the "enemy", but in a good way

I wasn't really expecting the Master to be inside...

.....but if you're going to stick some massive gold bars on a Dalek...at least give us a reason for them to be there...

...have them turn into a load of extra guns..

...have them fire rockets..

..have its head detach and turn them in spider legs to climb up walls or become razor sharp spinning blades..

...have them serve coffee or fondant fancies....just make them do something other than just being useless Dalek bling.

and that. I think if all it was going to do was bark orders at the Daleks what were they about? for me it was like the bit in the Wizard of Oz when you realise the wizard is a puny old man, or when Giles forgot to read that the small drawing of the monster was actual size
