Hey, I did a similar post about RTD the other week, but there's also been some pretty varied opinions of Catherine Tate in DW too. I just wanted to know if you'll miss Catherine Tate now that she's left DW.

I personally think she was excellent. Although I love her, I was worried that she wasn't right for DW when I heard she was gonna be back as the full time companion. She was a bit to much at first, but from the moment she begged the Doc to save someone in FOP and when she broke down listening to the Ood song in POTO I knew I was watching something incredible.

She has brought the series humour, heartache and a human element that I think the new Who had missed before her. I'm gutted she's gone and I think her last scenes deserves awards for all involved.... I've not cried like I did tonight for a long time....:

I thought she'd irritate me at first, but she's grown into - imho - the best companion yet (except Tegan). Russell T should be shot for how he got rid of her though

I love Donna. She was like a proper best mate to the Doctor. He wasn't in love with her, she wasn't in love with him. It was nice not to have that hanging over them.

Nope, glad she's gone. Her acting is way overrated in my opinion. Hope they don't bring her back. Nothing about her performance touched me, perhaps because I disliked her "comedy" so much I could not get past it.

Better THAT end than ending up as an abandoned, frustrated old spinster like Sarah Jane, pining away for decades!!!

Sad she's gone. Catherine Tate was excellent as Donna Noble - I'm gonna miss her.

Why assume she's gone for good?

A/ she's a ticking bomb...anyone wanting to get at the Doctor - or his knowledge - can get to her;

B/Wilf has the Doctor's mobile number on his phone now, remember?

C/ Harriet Jones' "sentient software" is still around and can find her...and she'll be in Torchwood's and UNIT's files now too.

I really loved her throughout the whole series...I thought she was brilliant as Donna Noble, and every week she showed how well she could act whether that good comedic scenes and timing...especially the timing she had with DT, and her right kind of heartbreaking emotional side...and even when she was shouty... I still loved her...only she could get away with the Vera Duckworth line...Oh and I loved how well she was able to mimic DT's Doctor in this last episode, couldn't stop laughing Allonsey!

Donna Noble was the best companion by far...and CT is just...well in the 9th Doc's words "FANTASTIC!"

She was ok..Not liked her at first...So is the Dr on his own now...i wanted Rose to stay with him..Or Martha

Ahem - Rose DID stay with the Doctor....

I think he'll pick up a companion in one of the Specials. If SM goes into Series 5 with a new Doctor after DT...then they're going to need a Companion present to deal with the continuity switch through the next regeneration...

Yep, very bovvered actually.

Totally gutted that she is gone, by far my favourite companion, absolutely perfect for the role, perfect for the show and I worry how they can send in a companion to take over from her.

I think they need to have "Helpers" in each of the specials to let us get over Donna (and the Doctor get over losing his best mate) Then find a new companion when the series resumes, at the very earliest the last special.

Terrible write-off imo. They could have just had it that she can't be near the Tardis for long periods, so no travelling with the Doctor.

Not if we get Sally Sparrow.

i loved Donna, i wasnt keen when she was first announced but shes grown to be my favourite companion from the new series. Everyone else was in love with the doctor and that ruined but Donna would shout back and thats what i liked.

Like many people, I was wary of CT/Donna Noble at first - but I was proved wrong as she actually turned out to be really good, both Donna as a companion and CT as an actress.

Sorry but that write off would have annoyed me a lot more than the one RTD did.

IMO the ending we got was good and at least she could get on with her life, although now she things she is useless again which is really sad.

Donna? Donna Who?

Nah, she's gone. Let's move on.

Tate was okay, better when she did the more dramatic scenes than the 'oi' I'm talking to you' shouty stuff but I won't miss her. I preferred Rose and Martha.

It's possible Doctor Who's clone daughter will become the next assistant. You never know...

am i bovvered? no. not in the slightest. CT being dumped by the Who producers was the only redeeming feature of last night.

Bovvered - Yes.

Catherine Tates done a great job and she truly was the Doctors friend. Best companion to date by a mile.

Donna Noble - the most important women in the history of Doctor who =]

Excellent acting by Catherine Tate and Donna was just the kind of assistant the Doctor needs. They were best friends and such a shame Donna has not had a longer stint.

I feel that RTD not only wrote off Donna for good last night, but he wrote Martha into 'Torchwood' - his own show, and Rose off the show too. I think that is the last we are going to see of the three of them which is a shame.

Donna was such a great companion for the doctor because she felt as though she was an entity in her own right as opposed to an extension of him. CT brought a great warmth to the show that is going to be greatly missed - in my opinion.
