Have I missed this offer?

When I look at the onestopphoneshop.com site, I'm only offered two phones on '3 to go' which are over teh £150 mark.

Yes you missed it, ir ran on the 6th or 7th of august.

It was free when you phone and £19.99 when you did it over the internet. *limited to 2 phones per customer.

Tough luck, if your the staff you should have been sufring the page when it was first mentioned

I would have prefered the 808 cos of the flip, but this seeems strudy strong and quick. I am not complaining yet!

Lets see how it goes

One for home, one for work cause if you get a chance to explore all it can do it'll use up the battery very fast.

I find I'm having to recharge every 36 hours or so.

Have fun and remember that calls to 333 (customer services) are free.

iv been playing music videos and songs all morning, battery is still full.

Dont know who i can make a video call to...

Downloaded a java game, but i think the paying is rediculas.. 3 services seem pretty good...

so far.. its £19.99 well spent

Slightly on the big side... but not a problem.

One last thing, anyone know where i can get more 3gp videos? i got a few from 3guser.net

I also had an 808y delivered this morning.

Actually, I'm pretty disappointed. The camera quality is no better than my T610, and sending things to the PC is a complete arse. Why do you to put the phone into a special transfer mode? You don't have to on the T610!, and neither do you have to use a special application to send the data over.

You'd think with the size of the thing, they'd have been able to include IrDA and Bluetooth, too...

EDIT: And it appears that you can't even send Java applications over the PC link! AND it won't even let me see the BBC WAP site... this is a really crap phone... I'd be seriously pissed off if I'd just paid £500 for it...

W@P isnt available on three yet i dont think.

Connecting to PC is incredibly simple, as is sending files.

Camera quality is not too bad, i didnt expct a digital camera like my 3.2 meg pixels or whatever.

I'm disapointed about iRDA, also in one of the 808y manuals, it says it has bluetooth!

But i dont really care for bluetooth.

What other things have you found out you can add to the phone? I dont know what apps u can put in the 'other apps' upload thing.

Ringtones are good qual, as is the media music player. Memory is nice and large. Data service is fast. Software somtimes slow.

WAP isn't available?! Jesus...

And there's no way the software for PC transfer is good. To give you an example, here's what I do to transfer files to my T610:

Right click on the file in Windows Explorer
Select T610 from the 'send to' menu
Wait a few seconds... and it's done

And, of course, because it's Bluetooth, this all works even when the phone's in my pocket, or on the other side of the room, or downstairs or whereever.

With the 808y, I have to:

Plug the phone into the computer
Set the phone into transfer mode (?!)
Load up the transfer programme
Decide what type of file I want to send over
Navigate to it
Send it

Now is it just me, or is the T610 version much easier?

Uploading from the phone it just as bad... with the T610 I can browse the contents of the phone memory from Windows Explorer, and download or upload whatever I want like that. With this phone, I have to use the PC app and start typing passcodes and things. Terrible.

I tried sending over a couple of MIDI files, but it told me they were too big (they were around 30k each). Strangly enough, the T610 accepted them without any problem. Similarly, I tried sending a reletively large JPEG (~100k), and the phone wouldn't accept it. What's going on? It's got 64 meg of memory!

And I still can't beleive you can't send Java apps to the phone. That's terrible...

The memory is nice and large, I'll agree. But on a phone the size of a small terraced house, could they not have included a memory card slot? I'll also give you that the media player is good, although I don't see why it can't play MP3s.

Where's the POP e-mail application? Surely that's pretty standard now? The T610...

As to the camera, the quality isn't bad but I'd expect it to be better than the T610, considering the phone is three times the size...

*sigh* I think that's enough ranting for now!

And all of that will be a small irritiation compared with the annoyance re dropped calls and network busy signals when there is full signal showing on this Network!

3 is a totally unreliable communications network just now... both voice and data calls are a complete lucky bag that's why the handsets and the tarriffs are so cheap! There is always a price to be paid and it's the ability to communicate when you pay 3 for the service promised. Its hard to complain too (at your expense) when they take 20+ minutes to bother to answer calls and when you get through have no solutions re known network problems.

Re 3 - forget the price - wait until Vodafone and others enter the market and force Hutchison 3G to offer a service that actually works when faced with CDMA products from others that have been more thoughtfully rolled-out.

I'm a subscriber (for now) and I have experienced how dismal Hutchison 3G is - so far.

The phone transfering is just like you would with a PDA or any other device using USB connection.

Pop 3 emails are accesable.
WMA are easily enough converted from MP3 in seconds, with the ability to adjust qulality on conversion.

Yes it does have its bad points, yees i would be diapointed if i paid over £150.. but... IT WAS £19.99!
