So where to now?

So where are we now….

After the finale now I really think DW is at a turning point. These are my thoughts on the key issues…

The Doctor….Is he back to being seriously damaged now? Davros really got under his skin with the ‘destroyer of worlds’ jibe and the number of deaths caused or on behalf of the Doctor. Will he now be questioning his way of working? He has seen all his friends find meaning with out him, seen Rose gone for good with another man (bet he was beside himself!!! genius gag I am keeping that in) But seriously he is struggling now so is the series set to go darker under Moffats’s rein? Or will we see these four stand alones give him some sense of peace. Funnily enough the only time the Doctor gets to live the life he wants to is under Moffat cos usually everybody lives!!!!

The companions… All gone and have found places to be. So where to next? Another earth girl of our time? Or a male? Or from another time and place? Or even Miss Sparrow? The last four series have hinged on the companions and this choice is even more important. I suspect we may have an X factor style 2009 with a new companion for each stand alone and the fan reaction leading to the choice. But surely its time for a change from modern earth girls.

The Earth… No reset button this time.. the Daleks reaped hell… how can Torchwood maintain is realism(relatively) when the Earth is now a very different place to our own?

David Tennant

Totally Brilliant in my eyes but his mock regeneration has kinda got people thinking… Is it time…has Ten had his journey and does it need a regeneration to let the Doctor move on from four awesome series and the events of journeys end?

What are the forums thoughts

Whoever his companion is it has to be a female. That is needed for the show's dynamic to work. Perhaps a companion from a past era might be a good idea, and then stories set in modern day could also feature her coming to terms with modern technology. Perhaps 2 companions, not like Micky and Rose who were a couple, but 2 companions who perhaps actively dislike each other.

Keep the Jerry Springer show out of the TARDIS thank you....although DT did do the compulsory 'strip' element

As they said at end of confidential, he wanted to take it back to origanal status - one man in a time machine traveling through time. Since no one as taken over the Show it likely the specials will be like the titanic episode - just him

- Also he leard alot and possible now he not full of rage and anger (just think of that look he made at end) so he will help more and less anger.

- He alone like he was meant to be, traveling through time

I'd like him to be on his own for a few episodes. After what he realised about how much death he causes and how he turns all his companions into fighters, I wouldn't find it very realistic for him to rush out and get another companion.

I think it would be interesting to see him on his own adventures for a while (not forever though). Maybe do some exploring into what it really means to be a timelord and for want of a less cheesy American expression, "find himself" a little.

The specials should be 3 self contained time war stories!
