02 and there web bolt on

hi all,
i have a n95 8gb mobile and am on o2 atm. i want to be able to acess the internet wherever i am so i dont want to rely on hotspots and what not.
so have decided to get a web bolt on
i am considering getting one from 02 for £7.50 a month

i want to be able too surf the net (full net not a stripped down version)
i want too be able to check emails
and i want too be able to use windows live messenger
all from my mobile phone wherever i am

can i get opinions and advice if people have 02,s web bolt on
or some advice on my options open to me

O2's Web Bolt On will be quite sufficient for your needs if that is all you require from it, I can confirm I am using it on the exact same phone as you and it works a treat!

Just go for the £7.50 option and you can surf the net to your hearts content from the phone. There are no active restrictions which I am lead to believe, only you can't use it for streaming or VoIP, which is standard anyway.

I had it for about 2months, stopped it because i wasn't really using the net much so i was wasting money.

Very good though.

The o2 web bolt on is fine. Had this for a while. Downloaded more than 125mb over the month through Opera Mini and used MSN a lot. That's just over GPRS lol.

I have just got this bolt on, what do they define as streaming, is it okay to watch the odd short you tube video ( a coupple a month), or is this not allowed. if a laptop is not allowed is a 'windows mobile' phone allowed.

I use the 02 web bolt on and the opera mini 4.1 browser on my se k800i . The opera mini browser is much better than the phone browser .
The opera browser downloads the full web page then compreses it , then you can either zoom in or set to fit to window , you can download/upload to websites , save images/webpages etc as well , so you might want to go down this road for mobile browsing .

I'm a bit confused by all this, I thought 3 and vodaphone allowed streaming so don't understand why other operators do not. Anybody able to explain this?

Whilst you can do Streaming/modem on some networks, they limit the amount of data you can send/receive. Whereas, as long as you use your handset only, on O2 there is no upper limit.

So there is a choice you can have a data limit or you can have an "activity limit".

If you are on one of the upper tarrifs (£35) you get one bolt on for free - I have added ther "unlimited" web one as my free bolt on

Different companies have different policies. As the song goes, if everybody looked the same, we'd get tired of looking at each other.

When 3G came about we were told of all the wonderful things we'd be able to on our phones, watching TV etc, without streaming that is not possible. I upgraded to a 3G phone with o2 recently and find I am being denied a full service, so looks like I will have to vote with my feet and switch provider.

Me too, they changed the sim only tariff a few weeks ago from £25 down to £20 so I moved up and took the web bolt on.
