i know you're right but i guess i'm not as optimistic as
you. that way if we go down i would have been fully expecting it but if we stay up it will come as a big and joyful surrise!

james vaughan should be fit for fridays match at donny... not that it really matters seeing as none of our strikers can be called prolific...

Not looking forward to the game at all.
My pessimism has taken over and I can't help but think bad thoughts about this one and the run-in in general. |

0-0 at full time.
Coventry 1-1 Scunthorpe. yet another opportunity blown. poor again. our last 3 games - Leeds (h); Hull (a); Forest (h). Scunthorpes - Millwall (h); Forest (a); Portsmouth (h). that's given Preston a big boost for tomorrow. Preston's last 4 games - Millwall (a); Cardiff (h); Ipswich (a); Watford (h). Scunthorpe have the better run-in, i can't see us winning again. |

Just one point and one goal scored from games against Scunthorpe and Doncaster who have the worst defences in the division says it all really.
Once again it was more about not losing rather than going for the win - I can't help but think that those tactics will come back and haunt us. We should be well clear of the bottom three by now but we are staring down the barrel. I know it's still in our own hands but I'm struggling to see anything positive right now. Two wins from our last eleven games is relegation form not survival form. |

crap, crap, crap... another crappy, negative performance... if we go down we can look back at these games where all we were concerned about was not losing... awful.

crunch time today... not holding out much hope for a positive result... just hope we change our negative tactics and go for it... one win could be enough to keep us up...

Yes! Get in! Palace 1-0 Leeds.
Massive win, massive three points. Other scores: Barnsley 2-2 Doncaster Preston 0-1 Cardiff Reading 2-3 Sheff United Scunthorpe 1-2 Millwall We're six points clear with six to play for and a goal difference that is nine better than Sheff United. |

Hopefully next season we can start to get it right away from home as well.
As exciting it is being in a relagation or promotion scrap I'd rather take a nice mid table finish next season where we can build our team and add a few youth players to it. |

that was the most nerve-wracking 90 minutes of this season... we defended really well throughout the game... not going to celebrate just yet as anything is still possible but i feel alot better about things then i did on friday... danns getting the red card at the end was a blow...

Cheers mate, looks good barring a catastrophe but I still remember back in '93 when we thought we were safe in the same kind of scenario only for Oldham to win their last 3 games against the odds and send us down on goal difference. We get a point at Hull next week and I'll gladly accept a right stuffing on the final day against your boys.
![]() Couldn't agree more. A season of mid-table obscurity would be most welcome for a change! Congratulations though to Millwall , done us a big favour in the last two games, can we repay them by beating Forest on the last day ? |

Massive win.
Scariest second half since Sheff Wed! But they worked damn hard. And that must be it now surely...

Remember the Oldham situation very well , so not counting any chickens yet .
I think it may be crucial that we have got ourselves above Doncaster. Even if Sheff United somehow manage to pull off two wins in their final games and score a few goals in the process, just as long as we don't do worse than Donny we'll still be fine. |

Well, if we beat Scunny and Millwall don't beat Swansea at home we should be ok as Burnley and Leeds have to play each other......then we can all play our youth teams on the final day with Paul McCartney's 'Pipes Of Peace' playing over the tannoy
![]() ![]() Would be nice to have at least one game this season where I'm not fretting and tearing my hair out! Good news is that Dougie is not getting carried away and knows we need that extra point to be certain of survival: Link |

i'm like most others, a great win over Leeds but we're not there yet.
once we're mathematically safe i will celebrate but not until then. ironically after all the negative tactics away from home of late we probably need to do that at Hull! |
