I'd be amazed if he was still with us next season. The constant procrastination over his contract has been going on for months now.

gotta agree... if he does stay thats great but you kinda get the feeling he's been biding his time to see what offers come in for him this summer and any decent one & he'll be off...

Thinking about it, Zaha is probably the best bet for the young player of the year award.

As it's Play off 's second leg tonight , one of the best nights in Palace's recent history The 88/89 Play Off with Blackburn , 3-1 down from the first leg , massive crowd at Selhurst 3-3 after 90 minutes , and then Ian Wright getting the winner in extra time .

I was in the Holmesdale that day, Barney. It was absolutely mental. Took a long time after to sink in that we had actually won promotion to the top flight. And to think, 12 months later we were in the Cup Final!!

my fondest memory from play-off finals was when we beat sheff united in 1997... david hopkins goal with the last kick of the game is still one of the best ever palace goals... ![]() Quote:

That was an incredible second half to the season we had that year. I'm going to go all geeky as I seem to recall we had a run of 15 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats in our last 21 league games that got us in to the play-offs.
The final at the Millennium was a great day out. The stadium was amazing. I remember how annoyed some where that it hadn't rained so we could play under a closed roof!

As a Mancunian living in London for the past 20 years, I thought it was about time I started supporting a London club. I went to Palace's last home game of the season and, despite the unfortunate result, am seriously considering buying a season ticket for next year.
I'm pretty sure that all I'll get is heartache by becoming a Palace supporter, but was impressed by the friendly atmosphere. |

We do have great fans, that's something that has always stood out in the 30 years I've supported them. There might not have been too many good times of late but when they do happen its just magic. Welcome to the thread, mate.

Perry was a fine goalkeeper. That 9-0 defeat at Anfield the following season broke him mentally. He was never the same after that hence us bringing in Nigel Martyn. A shame as he served us well.
