the club hope to tie up a deal to sign defender Anthony Gardner
this week.

Gardner would be a good aquisition but we will need one or two more defenders, especially another centre-back.

could be more if we end up selling clyne... at least we should have lee hills back for next season... that will feel like a new signing...

Article here talks about the possibility of signing Kagisho Dikgacoi plus Craig Forsyth being close to signing a deal. A couple of other names are mentioned.

not too sure about dikgacoi... i'm a bit 50/50 with him... but he will make a good enough squad member... semedo would be a good signing...

We see to be favourites to sign Danns. But also seen Norwich and Rangers linked to him so not so sure myself.

Not sure he wants to stay down south, mate. He has hinted a few times in recent months about wanting to go north. The latest as I understand it is that it's either Hull or Rangers. Regardless though, the one thing that is certain is that he's leaving us. Been a great player and I'll be sad to see him go.

I know he has a lot of family connections in Southampton. This could be crutial. But don't fancy our chances battling Rangers to sign him....Think we could persuede us to chose us over Hull though.

Still no news on Danns as yet.

Elsewhere we are reported to be interested in Rob Earnshaw from Forest and Iain Evatt from Blackpool but on the negative side Neil Warnock has reignited his interest in signing Darren Ambrose again.

losing ambrose would not be good but he does blow hot & cold as last season proved... a bigger loss would be clyne going which now seems more than likely...

We've drawn Crawley or Wimbledon in the 1st Round of the League Cup.

The Wombles could be coming back.

Good draw.

not usually fussed about the 1st round of the League Cup but that is a cracking draw no matter who wins through. although it would be a bit special if it was Wimbledon.

great draw... would prefer it to be the wombles but have a feeling it will be crawley... hopefully it gets picked by sky as one of the live games too...

Millwall at New Year brings back bad memories, of that dreadful match last season!

Happy to be at home last day, disapointed to be away first day. The rest is alright I 'spose.
