Ahh, now this brings back good memories of the last time we played you.

ah yes that play-off final - I remember watching on Sky when West Ham, and as Alan Pardew, walked up the steps leading to the dressing room he tripped on the top step when he did that I knew we were going to losee.

well we don't often play you the only West Ham v Palace , game that really sticks in the memory was back in the late 90's in a televised Monday night game at Upton Park when there was a floodlight failure I think it was 2-2 at the time the game was called o ff and we won the re-arranged game 4-1.

I remember the two games well, Larry, especially the Play-off Final for obvious reasons!

Hard to believe that was the last meeting between the 2 clubs. Even harder to believe that over the years we've only met 26 times. Even though we've won the last 2 encounters our record against the Hammers is a poor one, only 4 wins in those 26 games. But looking forward to the 2 matches.

I think I'm right in saying this but amazingly this will only be the third time in the last 34 years that Palace, Millwall and West Ham have all played in the same division together! Those previous two being 1978/79 and then 2003/04.

Wasn't there all sorts of rumours about Asian betting scams following that floodlight incident?

Remember reading about a police investigation, after 3 separate matches had failures that season.

Was sod's law we would lose the replay.

Hmm, and we got promotion both times....

and we've only lost twice at you're place from 12 games - being a London derby I'm expecting at least one of the games to be on sky next season/

1994 -5 FA Cup replay Wolves v Palace, the good old days , some cracking goals , my vote goes to Dowie as the best of the night just prefer it over Pitcher , but they were all great goals.

The Pitcher goal is my favourite out of those four. I remember that night well. Blistering performance going forward from us.

A pity. Not much activity going on at the moment with either players coming in or going out.

the latest from CPFC2010 on that matter:

Dougie is a man with a plan. I've seen his shopping list. It's very impressive, well thought out, with a great deal of research involved. There are #1 targets for each position where we are light and then back-up targets and back ups for the back-ups. He aims to have 2 players covering every position in the team. Plenty of time to go, and no need to panic. In Dougie (backed up by CPFC 2010) we trust. Steve B

PS - and it's not a shoestring budget. Blackpool got promoted on less and probably Norwich did too. Big budgets don't make winning teams.

That's good to hear. Hopefully we can get some of those #1 targets.

following on from that, this was also said...

Dougie is "close" to a lot of signings. Offers have been made but these things take time and he is a canny operator who is not going to waste our money by over-spending or making panic buys. Nor is he about to reveal his plans and targets to the press or on message boards before they come to fruition. He will have a stronger squad at the start of next season than at the end of the last one. Trust him.

One final point. We do NOT have to sell before we buy. Any players sold will be moved on as and when it suits the best interests of CPFC but Dougie knows that the owners are ready to trust his judgement and back him financially on player purchases.

They certainly know how to "talk the talk" don't they?

The best bit of news there is that we have no inclination to sell anyone.

Very disappointed to see him go, I don't think he ever got a fair chance to prove himself.

Hopefully more to come these next few weeks.
