Doesn't make for good reading.”

Another thing that must improve this year is discipline , to many red & yellow cards last time , see 4 booked already .

Is that down to the quality of player we have, the tactics, the manager's instructions? It's definitely a big problem with us. We simply can't afford suspension after suspension this season.

Same old stuff then.

Was feeling so good at half time - Scannell starting upfront and getting a goal. Brighton losing, with Poyet sent off.

Amazing how shit the day can turn in 45 minutes.

Let's hope that by our next game the new players will have got to know the rest of the players so that they can play together as a team.

don't be fooled by the half-time score, we were anything but great in the
1st half and were lucky to be ahead. 2nd half we were shocking until the
last 10 minutes when we got desperate. having 3 loan players in the
starting back 4 didn't help and having 4 loan players there for only 28
days will only mean our defence remains unsettled going in to September.

i agree with what has been said already about the possession problem
we have and handling a game when we are in front away from home.
its confusing because we know from our home form that we can produce
the goods. i have no idea why we can't translate that away from Selhurst.

A very good post by Sashman on Holmesdale Online titled It's Change or Go , well worth a read .

A brilliant and constructive post and I have to say I did agree with the vast majority of it, in particular the comments about the centre-back situation.

Also, having all these loan players cannot be a good thing. We saw that last season - constantly relying on loanees just encourages chopping and changing the starting line-up and squad. How will we do anything but struggle if we go down that route again this season?

sashman hits the nail on the head regarding tactics... we are way too negative away from home... we have good, young, skillfull players with pace and we don't use them... why does cadogan never get a run out? we shouldn't be sitting back against teams hoping to soak up pressure and hit them on the counter attack... we are better than that and we have the players to take the game to the opposition... if we continue with the negative tactics then i can't see us winnng away for a very very long time...

Tonights Carling Cup clash against Crawley at Selhurst has been called off for safety reasons due to the ongoing rioting across London which hit nearby in Croydon last night.

Just heard that the game has now been rearranged for Tuesday August 23.

understandably called off considering the circumstances.

as fas as i'm concerned if we rely heavily again on loan
players this season we won't get away from avoiding
relegation 3 years in a row.

If we get past Crawley we've been drawn at home to Wigan Athletic in the 2nd round of the Carling Cup.

Couldn't make today's game but will be there on Tuesday night against Coventry.

Very disappointed not to see Pinney on the bench at the very least today.
