never really liked cardiff either but anyway.... moving on, the games are coming thick and fast again. away to leicester tonight, another tough one...
early team news - Victor Moses (thigh) and Darren Ambrose (hamstring) look set to miss out. Centre-half Claude Davis should return after illness while left-back Clint Hill played at the weekend despite a virus and should keep his place. |

Disappointing after all that hard work in the weeks before.
Hopefully we'll react well on Saturday. |

Something that caught my eye... Quote:
Neil Warnock has sought to distance himself from reports suggesting he is wanted by Notts County.
The experienced coach has been strongly linked with the vacant managerial post at Meadow Lane as the ambitious Magpies look to replace Ian McParland. Warnock, who is currently in charge of Championship outfit Crystal Palace, enjoyed a productive four-year spell with County between 1989 and 1993. Rumours have claimed that he is close to making a dramatic return to the banks of the River Trent, with a big-money contract said to be on the table. Warnock, though, insists he has no intention of leaving Palace and he remains fully focused on a weekend showdown with in-form Nottingham Forest. He said: "The Notts County job for £2.5million a year? I'm not interested, obviously. "We have got Forest to worry about now. They've just won five in a row so that will be another very tough game." |

Well then, looks like someone is finally thinking about buying in to the Palace.

Was just gonna post that myself.
Trying hard not to get excited about it, in case it's all rubbish - but just can't help it! ![]() We may have had our differences with Gold et al in the past, but I'd be very happy with them as new owners. |

^ Jordan selling out to Gold! Lets just say I'll believe it when I actually see it! Would love to be a fly on the wall for any of those meetings! Forest at home today. Gonna be tough, they have won 5 on the spin. Quote:
Palace will check on Victor Moses ahead of Saturday's encounter.
The teenage winger suffered a recurrence of his thigh problem at Cardiff last Saturday and missed the midweek defeat by Leicester. Midfielder Darren Ambrose could return to the starting line-up after a substitute appearance on Tuesday night following a hamstring injury. Stern John has made two appearances from the bench since recovering from his dislocated elbow and will push for a start against his former club. Fellow striker Calvin Andrew is still on the sidelines with a long-term knee injury. Youngsters Kieron Cadogan and Nathanial Pinney and winger Ryan Smith scored for the reserves in midweek to push their claims for places in the squad. |

A dodgy first half, they played really nice football while we launched it forward. The second half was much more fun.
Great free-kicks from Ambrose, but he doesn't actually do much more than that. We could have won it with the chances we had, but overall the draw was a fair result I think. |

From Sky Sports: Quote:
Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan insists he has made peace with former Birmingham co-owner David Gold.
Gold has been linked with a possible takeover bid at Selhurst Park with Jordan having placed the club on the market last year. The duo fell out in acrimonious circumstances back in 2001 when Gold, who has also been linked with a bid for West Ham, persuaded Steve Bruce to leave his post as manager of the Eagles to join the Blues. But with Gold having sold his St Andrews stake to Carson Yeung and now actively looking for a new challenge, Jordan could be ready to do business, although he admits there has been no official approach. Successful The Palace supremo said: "All that stuff was tongue in cheek and is in the past now. "The fact is, David Gold is a very successful businessman. He has done very well at Birmingham and made a lot of money, so fair play to him. "At the moment it's hypothetical. There's been no enquiry and no offer, despite the stories in the media, which have all come from his camp. "My job is to ensure Crystal Palace continue to have a football club, which is very costly and difficult when we're getting 12,000 through the gate." |

How many is that for Ambrose now, 9 this season so far? He is having a stormer! If only we had a striker who could do the same then maybe we could turn some of these draws into wins! Good point, though, I would have taken that at the start of play.

a couple more could be on their way out fo selhurst... Quote:
Darryl Flahavan and Lee Hills are set to speak to Oldham about joining the League One club on loan.
Goalkeeper Flahavan is behind Julian Speroni in the pecking order at Crystal Palace and young left-back Hills is currently being kept out of the first team by Clint Hill. Neil Warnock believes both players would benefit from a short spell with the Latics. "Lee and Darryl are on their way to speak to Oldham," said the Palace manager. "We see this as a perfect opportunity for both players to get much-needed game time and there is no better way of doing that than to play regular first-team football." |
