Damn, we were so close to getting Brighton or Spurs in that draw.

Still, should be a fun away trip though.

Latest on Victor Moses...

Quote:
“Crystal Palace striker Victor Moses should cost prospective buyers at least £5million, according to the player's agent.

The 19-year-old has been persistently linked with a move away from Selhurst Park in the January transfer window after impressing in the Championship.

Palace's financial problems have increased speculation that boss Neil Warnock will be forced to sell, and Manchester City have been reported to be leading the chase.

Moses' representative, former Palace player Tony Finnigan, expects the forward to eventually leave the Eagles and believes all that is left to agree is a transfer value.

Finnigan said in the Daily Mail: "In my view Victor is worth £5m and maybe even more but I have nothing to do with what Palace will receive for him.

"But from a personal point of view and as a former Palace player I hope they get the amount they desire for him.

"I hope Moses goes on to be the next household name, and he has the talent to do that, but at the moment Palace have to get a figure they are happy with.

"I sincerely hope the player I work with and represent can enable Palace to secure their financial future."”

I'd be more than happy if we get £5million for him.

According to BBC1 it's off. Mark Bright introduced an interview with Warnock, some sympathy for us, good words for Jordan, Moses likely to go. Nothing new, but nice to see on mainstream TV.

Gary Johnson and the Bristol city boys aren't going to be happy.

They left their place this afternoon - must have got half-way here before it was called off.

Gutted. He wasn't one that I was expecting or thinking would move. He was a fine player for us and will be missed.

yeah, fonte was great for us. its very disappointing having to see him go.

some more news about our financial plight...

Quote:
“RON NOADES has offered to help rescue crisis club Crystal Palace from the brink of financial meltdown.

The former Palace chairman is waiting in the wings as the club prepare to offload players in the January transfer window.

Palace need to raise around £6million to see the season through, but Noades is willing to put together a consortium to help secure their financial future.

The former Palace supremo is only prepared to buy the club if he can secure the freehold to their Selhurst Park stadium.

The company which owns the ground is currently in administration and Noades believes he can buy it back for around £7.5m.

That could pave the way for a remarkable comeback for Noades after selling the Eagles to Mark Goldberg in 1998.

Last week Noades accused current chairman Simon Jordan of taking the club backwards and urged him to stand down.”

Well Im praying that Gold and Sullivan get outbid for West Ham and have a punt on us.

Just been reading about Noades online as I was interested to find out how much the man is worth these days. According to The Times Rich List for 2009 he is worth an estimated £30million. Obviously, that is not enough to buy Palace, the freehold of the ground and have money to bring in new players, so I am very interested as to who his consortium would be and how much money they would/could invest. Would be nice if in his absence he has got cosy with some Arab businessmen!

TBH, deep down, though, I'm with Oblivian. I'm kinda hoping that the West Ham deal falls through for Gold/Sullivan and they turn their attention to us. But, if Noades is the only option in the end then beggars can't be choosers.

i don't have a problem with noades coming back just as long as he has decent financial backers as part of the deal.

forest have apparently made a bid for victor moses. a few places are running the story but the following is from sky sports...

Quote:
“Crystal Palace have confirmed that Nottingham Forest have enquired about the availability of Victor Moses.

The 19-year-old has found himself at the centre of mounting transfer speculation of late, with a January departure from Selhurst Park seemingly on the cards.

A number of clubs are reported to be monitoring his situation, with Premier League giants Manchester City among them.

Forest, who are currently pushing hard for promotion out of the Championship, have now joined the hunt, with Forest reported to have lodged a £3million bid to their second tier rivals.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock insists he is unaware of such an offer, but has admitted that the Reds have been in touch regarding a possible deal.”

19-year old midfielder Kieran Djilali has returned to Selhurst after his loan spell at Chesterfield. Wonder if he'll get a first team opportunity, now.

west brom have pulled out of trying to sign victor moses...

from sky sports...

Quote:
“West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo admits to being priced out of a move for Crystal Palace star Victor Moses.

The 19-year-old is thought to be a target of mega-rich Manchester City, prompting an inflated £5million price tag which leaves interested Albion out of the running.

"That price would be out of our range," Di Matteo told the Birmingham Mail. "We have some interest in him but not at those numbers.

"We can't compete with clubs who pay that kind of money."

Speculation suggests City would be willing to immediately loan Moses out to a Championship side should they land the prospect, but Di Matteo has his doubts.

"If he came up on loan? Well, he's a player who I like but, again, I guess if someone pays that kind of money I'd question whether they'd let him out on loan."”

Yep, agreed. Full credit must go to the lads and Warnock. Despite everything that's going on behind the scenes they are still going out there and not only performing but still picking up wins and points. We're 8th, now, and only a point off the play-off places... Makes you wonder that if we didn't have the financial problems and if we had more strength in depth to our squad just how well we would have done this season.

You have to give massive credit to the players. to play with the heart they are right now is fantastic considering what is going on.
We honestly could be pushing for that automatic spot with a few quid behind us, such a shame.
