my main worry is our defence. we just don't have good enough cover and are very lightweight in those positions. and to be perfectly honest apart from julian speroni in goal and nathanial clyne none of the others fill me with the greatest of confidences.

we really need a takeover to happen sooner rather than later so we can at least bring in a few loan players to help out.

Same could be said for our attacking options at the moment which has been lightweight for some time IMO. Luckily our midfield (in particular Ambrose) has stepped up to the plate this season.

There's no doubting that when (and I hope its not "if") we get new owners in there will have to be changes to the squad. Fingers crossed that's in the near future.

Two seperate radio stations (one being TalkSport) are now carrying the story that Warnock is off to QPR after the Villa game on Wednesday, and that Gareth Southgate is coming to Palace as manager with Steve Coppell also coming in as some sort of director of football!

i've been hearing that. the mirror online is also carrying the story only with them once warnock goes he will try to take clyne, ambrose & danns with him on loan for the rest of the season!

Bloody hell, I hope that isn't true. If we were to lose those 3 players, even on loan, we would be totally screwed!

Not minding the idea of a Coppell/Southgate double-act, though.

i don't mind southgate and coppell coming in if warnock does decide to go. but if the first he did as qpr boss was to come back and try to rip the heart out of us knowing the state our squad is in i would despise him forever.

The one thing that is slightly confusing about this rumour is that if the administrator is happy to let Warnock go because of his weekly wages (15k per week, I believe.) then surely hiring a manager and a director of football would cost more?!

yeah, makes no sense. the thing is its all conjecture and supposition. also, the administrators have said we don't need to loan players out to save wages, and if we have another 1 million coming in from warnock's compensation we certainly won't be loaning our best players to a relegation rival. but if warnock even tried that it would be disgraceful.

its still very tight at the bottom and there's plenty of games
to go but this Warnock rumour that he's quitting for QPR has
me concerned. morale must be suffering as it is and if he goes
we could really struggle.

i would find it very odd if the administrator appointed someone
else regardless of who it was as whose to say who any potential
new owner would want as boss. unless of course we are close to
having a new owner and that person/s is already having input.

i wish he would just come out and either publically
deny that he is interested or say that he wants to go.
all this cloak and dagger stuff isn't doing the club
any good and at the end of the day its the club that
matters.

i really hope he's not just staying on in the hope of

can he though? if he can't get guarantees of his future at palace, then of course he's going to look elsewhere. i agree we need to know what's happening, but the same applies to warnock. unfortunately i think the speculation is now starting to affect the players, but what can warnock do?

Warnock gives the impression of having integrity. If he stays till the end of this season, he'll have kudos. He could easily make more before he retires by staying with us for peanuts if we can't afford 15 grand than he would if he took an early exit, which IMO would stain his character. I'd do 10 weeks work for 150 grand, but he's got loadsamoney already, what price his character?
