nowhere near the £1m from what i've read. there's nothing official from guilfoyle yet but it's being touted around various places at about £400,000-£500,000. which if true is just ridiculous.

Im sure Coppell would of done the job, or Southgate?
I would of rather have Matt Lawrence take the role till the seasons end over Hart.
The man has a career win percentage of less than 30% I think, that says all yiu need to know in my opinion.
He is a coach, not a manager.
Really not sure what to make of this, I'm in two-minds. I kinda get the feeling that Hart's appointment is based alot on how he saved Pompey last season in similar circumstances. He certainly wouldn't have been my pick but I will back him and hope he can save us from League One.
On the other side of the coin its great to see Dougie and Pembo returning to the club. Dougie is my all-time favourite Palace player and its brilliant to see him moving into coaching and management. Maybe a Palace manager for the future?
And Pembo is still my favourite right-back that I've seen in red & blue. Loved his passion and his storming runs forward. Great days.

On the plus side, Hart definitely has a point to prove, none more so to QPR themselves. The way he was treated by them was disgraceful. That game against Rangers at Selhurst on April 10th is going to be one very spicy affair!

I think some people are a bit confused as to who we could have got.
Coppell (apparently) turned it down and other than him the list of available managers is pretty shoddy on paper.
We aren't looking for a long term thing, just someone for the next 14 games. Hart has been successful in a similar situation at Pompey and it can't be stated enough - Dougie is back!

what's done is done now. whether we agree with the appointment or not all that matters now is getting behind the bloke and the team with our full support. as he said yesterday, the only target here is to stay in the division. we have 14 games left and probably need about 16/17 points more to be safe. i'm hoping that hart, dougie & pembo can generate a "the world against us" attitude amongst the players. get their spirits and morale up, get the passion and belief going, and get them to finish above qpr!

I feel a bit more positive about things after listening to that. I just hope he is telling us the whole truth.

^ Didn't believe for a second when Guilfoyle said that Warnock left becasue he didn't have the stomach for the fight. Warnock may be many things but a coward isn't one of them. Its a great pity that their relationship, such as it was, clearly fell apart. I wasn't particurlay happy when he first became our manager but he won me over and I'm very saddened to see him go.

my hunch is that alot on how we do is going to depend on dougie & pembo. to me they will be the motivators while hart sets up the team and tactics. in my mind this is very much a trinity. i hope to god it works!

I was having this discussion with a colleague of mine earlier and we pretty much came to the same conclusion. I don't see Hart as the one to motivate or to inspire, I agree that aspect will full on the shoulders of the other two. If Hart gets the team selection and tactics right, with the players we have, and with 14 games left, I can see us getting the points required to stay up. However, if he gets the team selection and tactics all wrong it won't matter how good Dougie & Pembo are, we'll end up in League One.

stern john may certainly get a chance again now that warnock has gone. i like the sound of 4-4-2. we definitely need to get more support to lee and take some of the pressure off him and we need to start scoring more goals. our defence looks dodgy and i don't think we'll be keeping too many clean sheets between now and the end of the season so we'll have to bang 'em in the other end!
