I know where you're coming from. Then again, from an optimistic point of view, Bill Gates will buy us.

bad news. looks like there has been no concrete offer for the club so the
deadline for bids has been extended by another 2 weeks until march 26th.
Mark Bright has confirmed this on BBC London.

From the Croydon Guardian:

Quote:
“ Crystal Palace's administrators are to extend the deadline for people to bid for the club after a lack of firm interest.

The P&A Partnership had already moved the deadline back by two weeks to 5pm this afternoon after the original February 26 deadline passed without any money being put on the table.

Today's deadline has now also gone with no one coming forward with a firm offer, leaving joint administrator Brendan Guilfoyle with no option but to add another fortnight to the club's waiting time.

Although plenty of parties have expressed an interest in buying the club, no one is understood to have come forward with the £10m Guilfoyle is willing to accept.

They now have until March 26 although it is thought bidders will wait until the end of the season to see if Palace escape relegation to League One before putting their money on the table.”

This is not good news. We could still be in administration after the season finishes and once that happens we could lose alot of players.

i had a feeling this was going to go pear-shaped. i bet half the stuff that guilfoyle spouts is just spin.
so if no one comes forward by the next deadline or by may 2nd (last day of the season) then from may 3rd we will have to sell the likes of speroni, ambrose, danns & clyne just to make sure the club can survive the summer months. i'm depressed again.

This has become very worrying. What is doing my head in the most is the silence from Guilfoyle. Would it kill him to give us a regular update as to what is going on. All this conjecture and speculation is not doing any of us any good.

And what's happened to Steve Parish and his consortium. They were supposed to have told Guilfoyle that they will step in if there is no other buyer. Does that still stand or was that all nonsense, too?

which means the players are now under even more pressure. keep us up so we have a better chance of a buyer.

he's probably waiting until the end of the season also.
find it odd that he's supposed to be willing to step in
as a last resort but not before then.

another potential problem is (i'm not 100% certain here) i think if we start next season still in administration we incur another points deduction. can't seem to find the exact rules on that.

Assuming we still have a club in August!

Team news in for todays game at Barnsley. Neil Danns and Kieran Djilali return to the starting eleven.

Speroni, Clyne, Hill, Derry, Ambrose, Danns, Carle, Lawrence, Lee, Butterfield, Djilali.

Subs: John, Scannell, Hills, Andrew, Ertl, N'Diaye, Mann.

i'm beginning to think that it may get to the stage where we are on the brink of liquidation before anything happens. the more likely the club is of being wound up, the more likely it is creditors will take an even bigger loss on what they are owed, enabling someone to come in and takeover for a rock-bottom price.

You could well be right. It was probably far too optimistic of us to expect a quick takeover. Doesn't help the nerves much, though!

Couple of other half-time scores that concern us...

Ipswich 0-0 Scunthorpe
Swansea 0-0 Sheff Wed

ertl on, carle off.

not exactly an attacking substitution.

I just don't get why Scannell doesn't get more of a run out.

djilali off, andrew on. still no sign of scannell.

We seem to be hanging on at the moment... just.

n'diaye on, lee off. they're all over us.

Ipswich go 1-0 up on Scunny in the last minute.

full-time: barnsley 0-0 palace
Sattrega
13-03-2010
Considering that it was backs against the walls for the last 20 minutes and what with Scunny's last minute defeat that could end up being a crucial point.
-Bandit-
13-03-2010
up to 20th. scunthorpe drop into the bottom 3 on goal difference.

plus points - a clean sheet. we defended well.

minus points - another game where we have failed to score.

Watford are slumping again. Beaten at home by Peterborough today. Only a point ahead of us, Scunny & Wednesday.

We still have that game in hand over Wednesday, too. And that is against... Watford!

i thought it was a terrible result. if we are to have any chance of
survival these are the games we must be winning. look at our next
4 fixtures. all teams pushing for the play-offs at least. today was
an opportunity and we blew it again.

and i'll say it again. i cannot see where we will get the goals from to
aid us in this survival bid. why scannell keeps getting ignored is
beyond me.

i honestly believe now that the only way we will stay up is if one
of the other sides around us just sinks like a stone.

you make some good points. those next 4 games will be critical. we'll probably need 6 points from them but unless we start to score more frequently that won't happen.

time to throw caution to the wind. i'd like to see both scannell and john get more minutes on the pitch. maybe even start them both.
