you just knew that would happen. it's never anything but traumatic with palace and that's what the next 40 minutes are going to be.

Doesn't sound like we've got going in the second half...
-Bandit-
20-03-2010
yeah, we're sitting back too much.

scunny 2-1 plymouth. that's not good.

It's all Blackpool. We just can't seem to push out.

we've blown it. and we knew we would. 2-2. still injury time to go.
Sattrega

I'm sick. 2-0 up and all we do in the second half is sit back and hope we can hold on for 45 minutes and we throw the game away. Only one man to blame for that IMO.

full time: 2-2.

this feels like a defeat. we were cruising. why didn't we go for the kill in the 2nd half? hart is so friggin' negative, even when we are 2 up! it does my head in.

Other scores:

Scunthorpe 2-1 Plymouth
Sheff Wed 0-0 Derby
Nottm Forest 1-0 Peterborough
Ipswich 1-0 Barnsley

That drops us back into the bottom 3.

i would have taken a point at the start of the match but when you're 2-0 up an in control of the match anything other than the 3 points is terrible. with forest away next things are probably about to get alot worse.
Sattrega

At least Sheff Wed didn't win again. But Scunthorpe winning is a big blow, more so as they have Peterborough at home next.

That's just 11 points from our last 10 games now. And that is poor to say the least.

don't believe it. i thought we may be up against it a bit in the second half
but to just sit back like that for the entire half and invite them on to attack
& attack was ridiculous. Hart is clueless. he doesn't even know how to get
it tactically right when 2 goals up. if it wasn't for Speroni at the end it would
have been even worse.

we shouldn't be happy with a point. we are in dire relegation trouble and how
often will we be 2 goals up in our remaining games? our home form is dismal,
we cannot defend leads and we have games against Forest & Cardiff next.
its gone way beyond desperate now.

Been reading comments by fans who went to the game and most are saying the same thing. Once Blackpool got that early goal in the second half and laid siege on us Hart didn't have any idea on how to change things.

To me he comes across as tactically inept and just tends to "hope for the best" a lot of the time. If we manage to stay up it won't be because of him it will be despite of him.

definitely.

we could be cut adrift this midweek. away to forest for us, sheff wed at home to watford, and scunny at home to peterboro'. doesn't look good.

Apparently, according to Hart in his after match interview "We are still hopeful we can stay up"

Hopeful?! Not "determined to stay up" or "we'll do everything we can to stay up" or "we'll sweat blood to stay up"... just hopeful. No wonder we look doomed.

says it all, really.

a small bit of good news today. Cardiff beat Watford 3-1.
makes the game in a couple of days between Sheff Wed
& Watford a massive one.

At least we'll get to go to Brighton next year! And probably Millwall and Charlton too.

Always looking for the positive me.

when was the last time all 4 of us were in the same division? that's a good quiz question!

I believe it was season 1985/86 in the old Division Two. Charlton finished runners-up, we finished 5th, Millwall 9th and Brighton 10th. And just for good measure Wimbledon were 3rd.

boffin!

you just know that either Millwall or Charlton will ruin
that now by winning the play-offs!
Sattrega

Well, I'm kinda hoping it's us that ruins it by staying up!

bit before my time. my first season was 88/89. so i've never seen the 4 of us in the same division before. that would be quite mental although i'm hoping desperately that we remain a division above them all.

Great season, that. Did you go to the Play-Off Final against Blackburn?

not the best of news...

Quote:
“Crystal Palace defender Paddy McCarthy's comeback from a long-term shoulder injury has been put on hold.

McCarthy, who has been out for almost five months, travelled with the squad for Saturday's 2-2 draw at Blackpool but has now been ruled out of Tuesday night's trip to Nottingham Forest.

Boss Paul Hart told the South London Press: "Paddy has had some trouble and has gone back home. He'll have a further scan. He's had a reaction to some work he did.

"We're just hoping it is scar tissue but he's gone for a further scan to try and get to the bottom of it."”
