Sounds like "wait and see". Not sure how much longer my nerves can hold out for?!

still sounds like spin. i won't get my hopes up or believe anything until something definite is officially announced.

as for todays game, i don't get paul harts reasoning. he will only put the kids on the bench and play all the fit experienced players. so that means playing some in wrong positions instead of bringing in 2 or 3 of the kids to play in their natural position. square pegs in round holes rarely works.

Come on you Palace!! Huuuuge game today!

Shame Sky have decided to move it so damn early.

Paul Hart has named Patrick McCarthy in the starting XI for his first start since October 24th, while Academy striker Wilfred Zaha and Academy centre half Jack Holland are given places on the bench.

Subs: 21. Kieran Djilali, 28. James Comley, 33. Alassane N'Diaye, 34. Alex Wynter, 35. Charlie Mann, 36. Wilfred Zaha, 37. Jack Holland

Poor defending from a Paul hart team, who'd a thunk it?

Worst appointment ive seen in some 35 years of supporting Palace.

Full-time: Palace 1-2 Cardiff

Too depressed to add anything else...

another 90 mins closer to relegation.

it was a spirited display but we really didn't create much in the way of clear-cut chances. the ref & linemen were crap throughout the game which didn't help. andrew worked hard but has no idea in front of goal and stern john was awol most of the match.

suppose its simple now. anything other than a win against watford on tuesday and we are doomed.

half-times elsewhere aren't helping once again:

coventry 0-0 sheff wed
peterboro' 0-0 bristol city
plymouth 0-0 blackpool
watford 1-0 middlesbro'

They worked so hard today, deserved at least a point. No help whatsoever from the officials.

A bit of bad luck and a lack of top attacking quality - as we've seen all season, costs us.

It's before my time, but at 35 years you were there for Mullery!

Not to mention Alan Smith in 2000.

Other full-times:

Coventry 1-1 Sheff Wed
Peterborough 0-1 Bristol City
Plymouth 0-2 Blackpool
Watford 1-1 Middlesbrough

Considering both Wednesday and Watford were winning at one point those results could have been much worse for us. Hopefully Sheff Utd will beat Scunthorpe tomorrow.
We still have an inkling of a chance to get ourselves out of this mess but we must beat Watford on Tuesday night.

lots of huff & puff today but no real quality in the final third
of the pitch. the fact we don't have a striker who can score
something from nothing is going to haunt us. we were
unlucky not to get a point but you make your own luck in
football and i just don't think we do enough going forward to
warant any.

the game against Watford will virtually decide our fate. if we
can somehow manage a win there then we will gain alot
of confidence from it and we could go on to be safe. lose and
we can kiss goodbye to the second tier and say hello to the
third tier for the first time in 33 years.

What to say? Depressed too.

PS Wilfred Zaha looked like he was pleased to be given a chance when his face appeared on the big screen.

The thing that depresses me the most about all of this is how we shouldn't be in this position in the first place. But because of some poxy hostile creditor and the ex-chairman who went to them in the first place we are now staring relegation to League One right in the face. Three months ago we were all thinking we could, against the odds, make the play-offs, now we sit here hoping for miracles to happen both on and off the pitch. The entire situation just feels so surreal.

i feel your pain. sometimes this all feels like a bad dream and it isn't actually happening. what's also bad is if we do get new owners in but still go down we will have to start from scratch. ambrose, danns, speroni and clyne will most likely be sold as i doubt they would want third tier football. (maybe clyne might stay for another year or so) and on top of that derry, hill, hills, butterfield, lawrence, john & ertl are all out of contract and will be free to leave.

result - sheff utd 0-1 scunthorpe

thats 3 wins in 8 days for scunthorpe and makes them all but safe. realistically its now 2 relegation spots to be filled by either plymouth, palace, watford or sheff wed.

What's happened to Scunny just goes to show how quickly things can change at the bottom if you can string 3 or 4 decent results together. I honestly thought they would be our nearest rivals for relegation. Right now it looks hopeless for us but 3 wins and a couple of draws from our final 7 games is still possible... albeit highly improbable.

just been announced on bbc london radio that CPFC 2010 are preferred bidders, subject to purchase of Selhurst Park. i may be wrong here but i think that's the Steve Parish consortium. more news soon i hope...

Interesting! That must mean someone has deposited the £10m that Guilfoyle was asking for?! Fingers crossed!

some more news:

Quote:
“CRYSTAL Palace have moved a significant step closer to securing a new owner this afternoon, the Croydon Advertiser understands.

The Eagles' administrator Brendan Guilfoyle, of P & Partnership, has agreed to grant "preferred buyer" status to an as-yet unnamed party, with an announcement expected later today.

Guilfoyle had set a deadline of 5pm last Friday for all interested parties to prove they had the funds to complete the purchase of the club, but it now appears the sale process is ready to move forward.”

The word going around on a few Palace sites is that it's Steve Parish and Martin Long.

on BBC local news Mark Bright has confirmed that a consortium of local businessmen have started a company called CPFC 2010 Ltd, and will be taking over but only if they can secure the ground also.

That would be my only concern, however, it's nice to hear some potential good news for a change.

this is very good news. hopefully the takeover will go
through and the purchase of the ground will create no
problems.

this could also be a timely boost for the squad ahead of
the watford game and galvanise them to the victory we
so desperately need.

Great to have a positive day of news for a change!

Really looking forward to Watford tomorrow. Well, nervously looking forward anyway.

This is from The Times Online. They say Ron Noades may also be a part of the consortium.

Quote:
“Crystal Palace’s administrators are expected to give preferred-bidder status to a consortium of fans seeking to buy the Coca-Cola Championship club (Gary Jacob writes).

Steve Parish, the chief executive of TAG Worldwide, an advertising design company, is understood to be among the group, who may also include Martin Long, the Churchill Insurance founder, and Ron Noades, the former Palace and Brentford chairman.

Should they succeed, the group will also need to agree a deal with the accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the administrator of the company that owns Selhurst Park.”

I'm not a Palace fan and so forgive me if I am intruding here but I listened to Jordan on Sky and would love to hear someone's opinion of what he said who can 'put the other side'.

When someone who obviously has been a major player and controversial figure speaks about a club you know nothing about really I like to hear frim true fans of that club to find out what the real situation is - so can any of you here help me out?

Perhaps you could give me a generalised view too by not only saying what you yourself think but also how Palace fans in general see Jordan and the situation the club is in now - I always hate it when a club is low in the league or even relegated due to matters off the field rather than results on it and it seems to me from a distance that you as Palace fans have had a real bad time due to matters completely out of your control - sad for you (honestly)
