At least palace have two chances to avoid the drop. After tonight Wednesday might not even have one chance
![]() ![]() Hand on heart I would be amazed if we did win tonight. Our home form since the turn of the year has been appalling. |

I am! Wednesdayite....
I've pretty much accepted that we're going down ever since we lost to Bristol City, we're unbelievably awful at the moment. Gave it a go at Cardiff and the effort was there, which makes a change, but our usual achilles heel of a complete lack of creativity and a dodgy defence cost us yet again. I personally reckon you'll win tonight seeing as you know exactly what you have to do. Even if it goes down to the last game, there's no way we'll break down a team who set out to resolutely defend. As soon as we get into the final third we don't have a clue. |

![]() here is our line-up and it's another baffling one from Paul Hart. unbelieveably it's 4-5-1 in a must win game. stern john only on the bench again. 1. Julian Speroni; 3. Clint Hill; 4. Shaun Derry; 5. Patrick McCarthy; 7. Darren Ambrose; 8. Neil Danns; 14. Sean Scannell; 17. Matt Lawrence; 18. Calvin Andrew, 20. Danny Butterfield; 22. Johnny Ertl Subs: 2. Nathaniel Clyne; 9. Stern John; 10. Nick Carle; 19. Alan Lee; 24. Claude Davis; 33. Alassane N'Diaye 35. Charlie Mann |

1-1 at half-time.
apart from the first 10 minutes we have been rubbish. Speroni had kept us in it. we should be behind, it should be game over. all we do is hoof the ball up to Andrew. do we think he's Drogba or something? just crap and i can only see a West Brom win now. |

1-1 at full-time.
not impressed. not happy. defensively we're a mess. all we do is hoof the ball up front. danns is a moron. can't see us holding out for 90 minutes at hillsborough. we need a miracle imo. |

You've got a point, and even if Wednesday win they will only be on 49 the same as Palace, so on goal difference surely Palace will stay up? Or am I stupid?

If Palace can't get at least a draw on Sunday, they don't deserve to stop up.

That is that, 1-1. Palace were terrible considering what was at stake. So many long balls but when you saw the quality of their passing on the floor you understand why. There were some really frustrating moments in the last 10 minutes when the Palace players just didn't make the right decisions or pulled out some terrible control when they needed it the most.
I thought N'Diaye should have come on ages before because a draw was no better than a loss. No Dannes for next weekend as well. It is going to need a Freedmanesque moment next week to save the eagles. I hope you get it. |

All the teams that go up play football on the deck with skill and even under Warnock we didn't really do that often enough |

I'm disappointed... again! For me, Paul Hart blew it bigtime. Not for the first time since he came in he got the team selection all wrong, the formation all wrong and the tactics all wrong.
4-5-1 at home in a game we had to win?! Do me a favour! He is just so negative. We were out of shape and running around like headless chickens until we switched to 4-4-2. But he didn't do that until there was only 20 minutes left. Beggars belief! Speroni was heroic. And no matter what happens on Sunday it will definitely be his last game for us. If it wasn't for him WBA would have won by 4 or 5. Hart has to be positive on Sunday. If we don't go 4-4-2 and play to win the game then we are as good as down as we won't hold off Wednesday just playing for the draw. |

Palace have now sold their entire allocation for the game - that's 5,700. Link |

we're going down. i can feel it in my bones.
![]() that was our golden chance last night. but what we've done is given sheff w all the belief and confidence they need to beat us. our players looked dejected at the final whistle. they knew they had blown it. we played ok but as satt mentions hart got everything wrong again. once we went 4-4-2 we looked good. if only we had started the game with that formation we could have won. our midfield apart from derry was poor and calvin andrew (as i've said before) is a waste of space. i really hope we start with lee and john up front on sunday. if we go 4-5-1 again and play cautiously we are done for. |

same for Ambrose and Danns too. in fact regardless of whether we stay up or not it will be the end of an era because quite a few players will be leaving in the summer one way or another. and that's even if the takeover goes through. |

Weird thinking about Sunday.
Half of me is bloody excited - it's gonna be an amazing atmosphere! But the other half is dreading the thought. Not sure I can take the nerves.... |

What got me thinking was, of course none of us want to see Palace go down, but I'm more worried about our future with this potential takeover and the purchase of the ground. I'd gladly accept relegation if it meant the consortium had finally sorted everything out and we still had a team to support & a home to play at. That said, I'm still hoping upon hope we can pull it off on Sunday!

link the most important paragraph in that report i thought was this... Quote:
PWC and the stadium's principal creditor, the state-owned Lloyds Banking Group, to which some £11m is owed, have made it clear they are "not in the business of closing down football clubs". Their preferred option is a deal with the new Palace owners. However, PWC will not sanction the sale of the ground until it is sure the club is a going concern, a Creditors Voluntary Arrangement has been agreed and the takeover has been signed off by the Football League. Given that CPFC (2010) has indicated that it will only seek to complete a deal for the club once it has secured the stadium, all parties appear to be at a stand-off.

that doesn't sound good on the surface but cpfc2010,
guilfoyle & the selhurst administrators were meeting today to see if they could come closer to a deal. no news about that yet, though. |
