i think speroni will win it but i'm inclined to go for ambrose as i always have a soft spot for someone who can score lots of goals and seeing as he did it all from midfield makes it an even better achievement.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have a problem with Ambrose winning it, but despite all the goals he has scored I don't think he has been as consistent as Speroni over the entire season.

Speroni has been top class for 3 years now.

Ham want him.

First big creditors meeting today at 2.30pm. This is the one where all the proposals of the administrators are put forward.

And tomorrow Guilfoyle is supposed to be meeting the fans for a Q&A.

all the info on the meeting can be seen at BBS. seems we could be screwed as it looks like that arsehole simon jordan will reject any CVA put forward as he has clearly stated he does not want CPFC2010 to purchase the club.

the consortium have to meet 5 requirements to takeover palace, one of which is securing the ground. their intial bid for selhurst has been turned down by PWC but they are meeting again today to hopefully come to a compromise.

if CPFC2010 can secure the ground they can still take over the club & exit administration without a CVA but that would incur at least a 17 point deduction for next season.

if CPFC2010 cannot secure the ground the administrator's only real option left is to call in the liquidators.

I've been reading as much as I can and I just cannot believe the arrogance of this man. I disliked him before but now I despise him. He is utterly deluded and is without any decency, integrity or dignity.

So, it looks like the best case scenario for us could well be CPFC2010 taking over but exiting administration without a CVA. Then being hit with a minimum 17 point deduction for next season. Right now I would take that as at least we would still have our club.

Of course, if CPFC2010 cannot secure a deal for the ground very soon then none of the above matters as liquidation would be just around the corner.

from the south london press:

Quote:
“ADMINISTRATOR Brendan Guilfoyle has revealed he has signed a sale and purchase agreement with the CPFC 2010 consortium for them to buy Crystal Palace.

But the club’s hopes of starting next season without a heavy points penalty rest largely with chairman Simon Jordan, who was voted onto a creditors committee at a meeting in Holborn this afternoon.

CPFC 2010 have struck a deal with secured creditor Agilo – but the hedgefund which placed Palace into administration at the end of January will not get back all of their £4.5million investment.

It is even worse news for the clubs unsecured creditors, of which Jordan is the largest, as the consortium are only prepared to pay out £250,000 of the £25m debt. That works out as a penny in the pound – a figure which we exclusively revealed a couple of weeks ago looked likely.

If the creditors reject a CVA – an agreement outlining what they will receive – at a meeting which us due to take place at the beginning of June then the club would face a further points deduction from the Football League for the start of the new campaign. Jordan’s vote will play a major role in deciding if they can get the 75 per cent threshold agreement needed to exit by a CVA (company voluntary agreement).

Jordan was at the meeting in Holborn and was voted onto the committee as a representative for football agency First Artists.

Guilfoyle said: “Simon Jordan declared himself very dissatisfied and criticised me for not remarketing the club for sale once it had retained its Championship status two weeks ago. In his mind there might be other interested parties – but there is no evidence of that. CPFC 2010 are the only team in town.

“CPFC 2010 have said that subject to getting a few things sorted out they will fund me and it means there will not be immediate player sales. It is going to cost £2-3m to get through to the start of August.

“If the CVA is not approved it could mean the club faces a further points deduction.”

The other members of the creditors committee – which is voted on by the creditors – are HM Revenue & Customs, Lloyds Bank, Selhurst Park Limited (which is under the control of administrator PricewaterhouseCoopers) and the PFA (Professional Footballers Association).”

I can only hope that Jordan has some sensible people around him that can advise him the only thing to do to save face is to accept the proposal. Anything else and he stands to get nothing at all.

But it looks like our entire survival depends on whether CPFC2010 can secure a deal for the ground. Tense, nervous days ahead for us all again.

as i always said, Jordan is a tosser. he's proved once & for all he doesn't
care for Palace and never has. he is a disgrace.

we can only hope that CPFC2010 are still able to purchase the club even
without the CVA. and obviously they can also get the ground.

if we have to take a massive points deduction then so be it, all i want now
is for my club to still be around. that's the only thing that matters.

Gonna be a very nervous few weeks.

The ground is still clearly the first vital thing. Let's hope we get some good news on that soon.

Anyone know why Jordan seems to be anti CPFC2010 ? Or is it he just wants more money back ?

The story I had heard was that over the heards he has taken money out of the club so that although he is owed money he has already got back all the money he invested in the past

Depends what rumour you believe. Some seem to think he wants more money. If he accepts 1p in the pound then he gets virtually nothing back.

Some say that he does not want CPFC2010 to takeover as Ron Noades is involved.

Personally I just think it's his ego. He knows he messed up big-time, that everything is his fault but instead of showing some dignity and integrity he wants to point the finger at others.

His lawyers need to point out to him that if he accepts the CVA he will at least get some money. By rejecting it or God forbid the club gets liquidated he gets nothing.

He needs to do the decent thing for the club and show the fans he still does care by accepting the CVA proposal. This will be perfect for his ego, too, as he can then go around saying it was his decision that saved the club.

some good news and some possible bad news:

CPFC2010 have agreed a conditional deal to purchase Selhurst Park from PWC.

however... they are not going to be giving any money to fund the club while uncertainty reigns around the CVA. if they don't start to fund the club very soon then players will have to be sold.

CPFC2010 are apparently talking to simon jordan to smooth things over and hopefully get him on side to accept a CVA proposal.
-Bandit-
18-05-2010
following on from my above post... the CVA meeting will take place on June 3rd.

HRMC will oppose any CVA proposal, but that will not prevent the CVA going through.

if Simon Jordan rejects the CVA then it will fail.

CPFC2010 will fund the club from next month subject to the CVA being approved by the creditors.

CPFC2010 have agreed a deal with Agilo, and with PwC for the stadium but this is all subject to everything else being in place.

Unless 75% agree with this CVA proposal, Guilfoyle will sell players immediately as he has no further funds to keep the club going.

so everything depends on Simon Jordan agreeing to the CVA. if he does then Palace are saved and we can look forward to a new beginning. if he doesn't then we face certain liquidation. Jordan decides our entire fate.

That's great news about the ground, I wasn't expecting to hear anything like that today.

Not so good news about Simon Jordan. Our very survival as a club is very much in his hands and his decision on June 3rd. I guess this is where we all start praying that he has a modicom of decency left within him and does the right thing.

from the croydon advertiser:

Quote:
“FORMER Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan holds the key to the future of the club, it has been revealed this afternoon.

The consortium aiming to take control of the club, CPFC 2010, have taken significant steps towards completing their proposed buyout today after agreeing in principle on a deal to acquire Selhurst Park.

2010, fronted by Palace fans Steve Parish and Martin Long, has also agreed to repay a portion of the money owed to Agilo, satisfying the investment firm which took Palace into administration.

But the final piece in the jigsaw is agreeing a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) with Palace's creditors and that looks like being the hardest for administrator Brendan Guilfoyle to resolve.

2010 have said they are prepared to fund the club before a sale is completed but will only do so after the CVA is agreed. Until that occurs, Palace face the prospect of having to sell their best players to pay this month's wage bill.

For the CVA to be agreed, 75 per cent of the creditors (based on value) must vote in favour of a proposed repayment, expected to be 1p in every pound owed.

Palace owe more than £2 million in unpaid tax to Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs who will automatically vote against the CVA.

The exact amount owed to Jordan is disputed but Guilfoyle confirmed that the former Eagles chairman will have the deciding say on whether the CVA will be passed.

He said: "Two major pieces of the jigsaw have been resolved. The lawyers of the stadium's administrators confirmed with me this morning that a conditional deal has been agreed on the ground. Agilo have been satisfied but 2010 have confirmed with me that they will not be in a position to fund the club until they know a CVA will be passed.

"The key to this is Simon Jordan. He indicated at yesterday's meeting that he was not happy with the sale to 2010. He feels the club could have been remarketed after securing its Championship status. As a major creditor, his vote will be crucial in passing a CVA."

Guilfoyle aims to send out the CVA proposals at the end of the week with a meeting and vote scheduled for early next month.”

I can already see the Supporters Trust and fans in general already galvanising themselves to try and put friendly pressure on Jordan and try and persuade him to do the right thing on the 3rd.

These next two weeks are going to be very worrying.

really great news about the ground. at least that is one
major worry out of the way.

i don't like Simon Jordan for many reasons but i obviously
hope he makes the right decision for all of us on June 3rd.
in a perverse way, even though he stands to lose a lot of
money, he can now make himself a hero again by accepting
the CVA and help to make sure Palace has a future.

The Times seems to believe that Martin Long, one of the major players in CPFC2010, will pull out if Simon Jordan rejects a CVA. If that were to happen liquidation would be a virtual certainty.

from the south london press... and pray that it's true!

Jordan: I won't kill Palace takeover.

Quote:
“ SIMON Jordan has promised that he will not be the man responsible for putting Crystal Palace out of business.

The Eagles are currently in administration but the CPFC 2010 consortium are locked in discussions to buy the South London outfit.

But administrator Brendan Guilfoyle revealed yesterday that the group would probably pull out of a deal if a CVA (company voluntary agreement) cannot be agreed with creditors.

Jordan is owed a minimum of £7.8m and if he was to vote against the proposal it would make it hugely unlikely that a CVA could go through.

But speaking exclusively to the South London Press, the former Palace owner has rubbished suggestions he could bring the takeover down.

He said: “It is not going to be by my hand that Crystal Palace fails or suffers.

“It is not going to be me that decides if Crystal Palace have a future - I have no intention of doing anything that jeopardises Crystal Palace’s future I’m not going to bring Palace down.””

Sounds promising but I won't get carried away as Jordan has a habit of wording things a certain way.

“It is not going to be by my hand that Crystal Palace fails or suffers. It is not going to be me that decides if Crystal Palace have a future - I have no intention of doing anything that jeopardises Crystal Palace’s future I’m not going to bring Palace down.” - could mean that Lloyds will oppose the CVA, or that because CFPC2010 have not offered more to the creditors it will be their fault a CVA fails. And so on...
-Bandit-
19-05-2010
yeah, that did cross my mind too.

this is what he told the mail online:

Quote:
“'The administrators didn't want me on the committee - but I am and I need to make sure I help get the best deal for creditors.

'But I don't want to make things difficult for the administrators. I have seen first hand how much this club means to people.

'I don't want to be the one who destroys Crystal Palace Football Club.'”

Sattrega

I still reckon despite what he has said to the press there is more going on here than meets the eye. Unfortunately it's still a case of wait and see. Maybe the closer the day comes more will be revealed.
