looking forward to the press conference.

apparently Stephen Browett may be a member of 2010 along
with Martin Long & Steve Parish.
Browett is Chairman and majority shareholder of Farr Vintners.

I am really pleased for Crystal Palace fans

Cheers Sulla.

Still no official time for the press conference, at least none I can find. Possibility I suppose that it may be put back tomorrow if they want to finalise everything first.

This just in.

Quote:
“Following discussions regarding a possible Press Conference being held by the 2010 consortium, CPFC would like to inform supporters that there are no plans to hold a conference today.

The takeover talks are progressing well and any further news of any planned conference will be announced on the official site as and when known.”

More waiting then...

from the south london press...

Quote:
“ CHRIS Coleman is holding talks with the CPFC 2010 consortium about becoming the new Crystal Palace boss.

The South London Press understands that CPFC 2010 - who are expected to seal their takeover of the Championship side within the next couple of weeks - are in discussions with the 39-year-old Welshman, who has had managerial spells at Fulham, Real Sociedad and Coventry.

Coleman spent four years as a player with the Eagles and was voted by the club's fans into their centenary XI in 2005. He left in 1995 to join Blackburn Rovers.

The former Welsh international has been out of work since being sacked on May 4 after Coventry finished 19th in the Championship table.”

Regardless of who it is they will get my full backing. Admittedly Cookie wouldn't be my first choice but I don't think we can judge. Of course it may not even end up being him.
I wonder if Dougie will still be part of any set-up no matter who the new manager turns out to be?
Tusk0312

a bit of an uninspiring choice but we really can't be fussy with
our selection after all we've been through of late. and reports suggest
that coleman would love the job.

but maybe this is the first of many talks CPFC2010 plan to have with
potential candidates?

From what I have read last night and this morning that may be the case. Certainly, they will be talking to Dougie about his future.

wait for this one... from the south london press.

Quote:
“ FORMER Crystal Palace chairman Ron Noades is set for a sensational return to Selhurst Park as part of the CPFC 2010 consortium.

The ex-Eagles supremo has revealed for the first time that he could be prepared to join the group - which is fronted by wealthy fans Steve Parish and Martin Long.

A mass of paperwork forced CPFC 2010 to scrap their plans to hold a press conference yesterday, at which they were expected to announce their plans for the future. They are just weeks away from completing their takeover and their official unveiling is set to be early next week.

Noades has admitted he is tempted to join the consortium once they assume control - and is even keen on a director of football role.

He said: "If I want to go and put money in I know that I can. I believe they will be seeking investors to join them once they have put their package together.

"If they need a director of football I'd be interested - making managerial appointments, finding young players and overseeing the quality of the academy, which is quite good. You can have all of the chief executives in the world but that is not what runs a football club."”

Shows just how low we were when I think to myself that Ron Noades might be ok to steady the ship. How wound up would Jordan be if that happened!!

If the above report is true you would think Noades would have kept his mouth shut until after the CVA had been sorted. This is the kind of news that would really pee Jordan off again.

Thank goodness Palace survived. Not such good news for ex Eagle Neil Shipperly, who manages Combined Counties league side Bedfont, the equivalent of seven levels below Palace. They have folded this week. Proof not every club survives last minute deals.

07-06-2010
Cheers Dan. Unfortunately we are not out of the woods yet. We still await a CVA and the consortium have intimated that they won't start funding the club until they know for certain that the CVA will pass. The problem with that is there is no money at all and the administrator needs to pay staff & players. If something doesn't happen in the next couple of days there could still yet be a threat to our future. As per usual with Palace we wait with baited breath...

an update on what you say, Satt, and it's good news...

Quote:
“THE CPFC 2010 consortium have completed a conditional deal to takeover Crystal Palace.

The group led by Eagles fans Steve Parish and Martin Long exchanged contracts at 3pm this afternoon and have agreed to start putting funds into the administration-stricken club.

Administrator Brendan Guilfoyle confirmed the news to the Advertiser.

"The contracts to agree the sale of the club to CPFC 2010 have now been exchanged and I have been told that I will receive funds to keep the club afloat," said Guilfoyle, currently in Malta at the Football League conference.

"The deal is conditional on four parts. The successful sale of the stadium, secured creditors Agilo being satisfied, unsecured creditors agreeing to the CVA and for the consortium to supply the funds for me to run the club while the takeover is finalised."”

Would you believe it, the forum is offline on our most important night for years!

Anyway, its' all good news...

Quote:
“CPFC2010 are pleased to announce that we have today completed the acquisition of Crystal Palace Football Club from the administrator of CPFC2000.

We have also exchanged contracts and paid a deposit on Selhurst Park, the sale will complete when we satisfy the Football Leagues requirements and CPFC2010 are assigned the Football League ‘share’.

All then that remains is for the successful conclusion of the creditors voluntary arrangement, we feel confident this will be a positive outcome, the former secured creditor of the club accepted a shortfall on their settlement, in light of this and the fact CPFC2010 were and are the only party serious about acquiring the club, we believe our offer represents the best value for creditors.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Lloyds Banking Group for their genuine concern for the future of the club and recognition of what it meant to the community and fans and we are extremely grateful.

We would also like to thank Brendan Guilfoyle of The P&A Partnership who has done an excellent job in trying circumstances, Jon Rouse CEO of Croydon council for his unwavering support, The Administrators' team at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Daniel Norris of Hogan Lovells, CBRE, Andrew Hall & Catherine Guerin of Nicholas Hall and `The Agilo Master Fund.

Also special thanks to David Hinchliffe and Austin Judson of Walker Morris who have worked tirelessly to get the deal finalised as well as David Jensen who has worked equally hard as ambassador to the club and spokesperson for CPFC2010.

We will now start the process of rebuilding the club, starting first with the management and playing squad, all our players have been magnificent, the uncertainty of the past months has been very difficult for them particularly the out of contract players and Darren Ambrose who’s on off transfer has been extremely unsettling. We would like to extend our gratitude to all of them and assure them that we will deal with all of their respective situations as soon as we possibly can. This of course is true of all of the staff at the club who have also been amazing through this difficult time.

Finally of course the fans of Crystal Palace FC whose tremendous support in difficult conditions inspired us to keep going even when it looked like the club may indeed cease to exist in its current form. We look forward to seeing you all next season once again lending your tremendous support, it would be fantastic to pack Selhurst again and we would encourage any of you who haven’t done so already to buy a season ticket, to those of you who already have, rest assured they will all be honored by CPFC2010.

We will call a press conference soon where we will outline some of our plans for an exciting yet stable future for Crystal Palace.

Martin
Stephen
Steve
Jeremy”

Just a big thank you to CPFC 2010 and all they have done. A week or so ago I truly believed our club was dead but now we can look forward to a very bright future!

These four seem like really top blokes with their heads screwed on the right way. I think we could be about to embark on our best ownership ever. They won't be throwing about money needlessly and Palace can look forward to a stable and hopefully very successful future under these guys.

Now we can start to speculate about things like our next manager. Chris Coleman appears to be the early favourite still.

so happy with the news. i'm not 100% relaxed yet, i don't think i will be until the CVA is passed and the football league ratify everything. but hopefully the biggest hurdles have been jumped. a massive thanks to cpfc 2010. got a good feeling about these guys.

And the good news keeps on coming!

Quote:
“The joint administrators for Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace FC, are delighted to confirm that, following the "in-principle" agreement on 1st June to sell the ground to CPFC 2010 (the Consortium) at an agreed and undisclosed price, the deal has today been effectively concluded with the formal exchange of contracts.

The completion of the purchase by CPFC 2010 remains dependent on the CVA being secured by Crystal Palace FC’s administrators, The P&A Partnership, and approval from the Football League.

Barry Gilbertson, partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said:

"This transaction has been one of the more complex to resolve. We would like to reassure everyone, and the Club's loyal fans in particular, that all parties have worked diligently and with a spirit of determination to find the right solution to the very many issues that arose. This has ultimately involved many hours of hard work, before, during and after lengthy meetings and conference calls late into several nights, in the best interests of making the deal work.

"We believe that the Consortium's vision for the Club, which they are purchasing in a parallel transaction, using Selhurst Park as their ground, matches that of the community, the football club and its supporters.

"Enabling the paperwork to be prepared, negotiated and agreed, in what has been a short space of time, is testament to the ongoing support we have received from Lloyds Banking Group and other key stakeholders with their respective advisers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for the contribution they have made in securing this successful outcome.

"Importantly, we wish the Club well in the days, weeks and months ahead as they work their way out of administration, continue their discussions with the Football League, and prepare for the start of a much happier season in the Championship."”

Well, the good news couldn't last, could it?

Quote:
“Johannes Ertl has left Crystal Palace and signed a two year contract with Sheffield United.

The 27-year-old's contract expired at the end of last season, and without the finances in place, Palace have been unable to offer him a new contract.

Ertl who has played seven times for Austria, put in a number of solid performances during the last campaign for the Eagles, and played a crucial role in the 2-2 draw at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday which saw Palace secure their place in the Championship.

Blades boss Kevin Blackwell told their official website: "He's a good lad who can do a very solid job at right-back, central midfield and even at centre-half. And he has played enough times in the Championship for me to know he can come in and do it for us here."”
