Full-time: Palace 1-1 Plymouth

Well, at least we didn't get beat, I suppose. Definitely looks like its gonna be a long hard season, though.

Good game overall. We played well going forward and could have easily won it with the amount of chances we had.

Sears stood out all game, just needed the finishing. Moses looked great at times, Derry and new lad N'Diaye were also pretty decent.

Pleased to see Alan Lee get his goal, he worked really hard today.

Suspected dislocated elbow for Stern John. Still awaiting the x-ray results.

Warnock pretty much confirmed that because of John's injury, Alan Lee is unlikely to be sold, now.

Next game, Torquay in the Carling Cup on Tuesday evening.

Something like Spurs at home would be nice for the second round - and would help out the finances a little.

Looking forward to Bristol City this weekend!

We've been given a home-tie against moneybags Manchester City in the Second Round of the Carling Cup!

That could well be picked for TV.

Stern John has been ruled out for at least six weeks after it was confirmed he needs surgery on an injured elbow.

Warnock is hopeful that Simon Jordan can get this transfer embargo lifted ASAP so he can get another striker in.

Bristol City v Palace team news:

Freddie Sears and Nick Carle return to the squad for the trip.

On-loan West Ham striker Sears missed the midweek Carling Cup win over Torquay as he was on international duty with the England Under 21 side, while midfielder Carle played in Australia's win over the Republic of Ireland.

The Eagles are still without summer recruit Stern John after his nasty elbow injury just half an hour into his debut against Plymouth Argyle on the opening day of the season.

Midfielder Darren Ambrose is playing through the pain of a shoulder injury and should figure again after his two goals on Tuesday night.

Youngster Nathanial Clyne was rested in midweek and will challenge Danny Butterfield for the right-back slot at Ashton Gate.
