Millwall at Selhurst first would be fun.
Or maybe last - our chance to relegate them. (Or God forbid, their chance to relegate us! )

Another player being linked with a move to QPR. Quote:
Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers are closing in on the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Shaun Derry.
Derry looks set to leave Palace when his contract expires later this month and Rangers are keen to bring him to Loftus Road. Rangers boss Neil Warnock has targeted several raids on his old club having lined up moves for Derry, Clint Hill and Darren Ambrose. Warnock is a big admirer of Derry and believes the midfielder will be a key addition to his squad as he plans a promotion push next season. Talks are thought to be at an advanced stage and Derry is expected to make the switch across to Loftus Road. |

hope he doesn't go but he wouldn't be the biggest loss. i would be surprised if he left us now though after everything he said at the end of the season.

Maybe there was truth to the rumour after all... Quote:
American rap star Diddy, formerly known as P Diddy and Puff Daddy, has revealed that he considered buying beleaguered Championship club Crystal Palace. Link
"There was somebody that had looked at it but the business of it just wasn't the right business move for me at the time," the entertainer told the BBC. Crystal Palace were on the brink of liquidation until they were bought by a consortium named CPFC 2010 last week. But Diddy said he was still on the lookout for a football club. "I'm always looking into different business ventures and it's definitely one of my dreams one day to be a part of a sports franchise, especially a football team," he said. "If the right situation comes my way and it's appealing and we can make the right splash and most importantly build the right team and win... I'm into winning and if it's the right situation then I'm open to it." The rap mogul earns an estimated £21m ($30m) a year, according to Forbes magazine. |

^ A nice great big banana skin for us! Looks like we're about to find out our new manager: Quote:
Palace will announce their new manager tomorrow, with George Burley, Paul Hart, Sean O'Driscoll or Dougie Freedman expected to take the post.
The Eagles are holding a press conference at Selhurst Park at 3.30pm where the new manager will be presented and the CPFC2010 Consortium will be present for the first time. The timing of the announcement means it is unlikely to be Chris Coleman, who was interviewed for the job but is currently in South Africa commentating for ITV. Former Scotland manager Burley is understood to have been interviewed, while Hart and Freedman led Palace to Championship safety last season. O'Driscoll is currently in charge of Championship rivals Doncaster Rovers. |

just seen the press conference. really pleased that dougie will be the assistant manager to burley. that is a good duo. impressed with everything burley said. very sensible saying that next season is about stability but we will get stronger and our future is bright.
just looking at those fixtures above you suddenly realise what a tough division the championship is going to be next season. millwall at selhurst in october. bring it on! |

I was very impressed with Burley, too. I liked how he put emphasis on stability but also the academy and the continuation of bringing the young players through.
Having Dougie as number 2 is a stroke of genius IMO. |

From CPFC2010 about relocating from Selhurst Park:
- The first thing is to look at relocation possibilities, relocation has advantages for the club logistically as we can play where we are while we are building, redeveloping costs a lot in lost revenue while the work is being done. Also there are issues to redevelopment , key areas of the ground have been sold and therefore there are challenges to getting a big enough footprint. I do understand that relocation is not everyone's desired option so we would need to look at where and talk to everyone especially the fans and get views. If there's nothing available anywhere then once we have discounted that we will look to redevelop where we are. So its look and see whats available first before we develop Selhurst, if we cant find any realistic options or they are too far , wrong area etc we will redevelop. - I need to be clear on this, it is only my preferred option to relocate because 1. It would raise more money to build a stadium 2. We would lose less revenue while it was being built 3. We wouldn't have to ground share which we probably would while redeveloping I also don't want to redevelop and then find theres a site we could have developed on and didn't look into . So we have to look around first and see whats there before we spend money where we are. |

i love Selhurst but i think it's a very good idea in looking at
relocating. a new stadium would be brilliant as long as it was in the Croydon or Bromley area. Selhurst has too many obstacles to renovate it properly, it's stuck in a horrible location. |

For this club to finally move forward then relocating to a new purpose-built stadium is a brilliant idea. If it were to happen my only hope would be that it was different to those normal dome-type stadiums you see. Build something with a bit more character to it. And then call it "The Nest"
