Really pleased about Dazza. That's a huge boost.

“ TEEN star Nathaniel Clyne has been told he will not be leaving Crystal Palace for at least another 12 months.

Eagles boss George Burley has ended speculation over the future of the England U19 international - who is a target for Birmingham - by saying there is no way he will be allowed to leave Selhurst Park.

“There is no doubt that when any Premier League club is interested it’s a wee bit distracting for the boy but he’s focused that he’ll be with us next season,” said Burley.

“I’ve had a chat with the boy and he knows where I’m coming from. He needs at least another season - and hopefully longer - before he even thinks about going to a Premier League team. We want to keep him.””

Some conflicting reports in today's tabloids saying that we may be ready to cash in on both Ambrose and Clyne after all as season ticket sales aren't going as well as expected! Make of that what you will.

“
STERN John has played his last game for Crystal Palace.

The veteran striker was one of many Eagles stars whose deal finished at the end of June.

George Burley had hoped to at least talk with John before making a final decision on his future, but the Palace boss has been unable to track him down and has now ruled out any chance of a return.

"I know Stern quite well as I took him to Southampton with me and I wanted to talk to him and see what his plans were," said Burley.

"But I haven't been able to get hold of him. I've been told that he is in the Caribbean somewhere but that's all we know.

"So I think we will move on from that one now. He won't be playing here next season."

Palace's attacking options are thin on the ground and Burley has said that he would like to add at least one new striker in the next few weeks, with ex-Eagle Clinton Morrison one of the names on his hit-list.

"We have a number of options and we hope to tie something up soon," he said.

On a more positive note young forward Calvin Andrew will sign a new contract with the club in the next few days.

Andrew, winger Kieran Djilali and reserve striker Kieron Cadogan have all verbally agreed to new deals and the paperwork is set to be finalised by the start of next week.

"It's all agreed and they'll put pen to paper in the next few days," added Burley.”

^ So that's another striker gone. That only leaves us with Andrew & Lee and I say Andrew without any kind of conviction.

We are, however, after Owen Garvan.

owen garvan would be a good signing if we can get him.

meanwhile burley has spoken about signings and pre-season etc...

Mark Randall would be a bit of a coup if we got him.

I've heard good things about Simeon Jackson, too.

Simeon Jackson would be a great addition. he is a decent goalscorer.
more of a poacher in the style of AJ.

word is that Birmingham have had an improved offer of £1.25m for Clyne
turned down.

Apparently we're giving a trial to ex-Chelsea academy midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

Also two nameless full-backs, one from Portugal and one from France.

not the best starts result wise. beaten 1-0 by Crawley tonight.

This is where I say results in pre-season doesn't matter and it's all about getting players fit and ready for the start of the actual season.

Anyhow, here is a report of last nights encounter...

... apparently Bridcutt was very good when he came on.

Decided I'm not gonna bother with going to any friendlies this year.

But it's bloody exciting to actually be playing games again. And signing players.

“Palace boss George Burley has revealed he is set to have a trialist who played in this summer’s World Cup finals in his side for Saturday's visit of Chelsea.

The Eagles chief wants to keep the identity of the player secret until kick-off.

“I’ve got at least one international player who will play 45 minutes so we can have a look,” said Burley. “He did play in the World Cup so he is at a good standard.

"I’ll hopefully have another one on trial for Chelsea too - it is ideal to see these people in match action.””

Davide Baiocco from Perugia is apparently on trial at Palace.

We're being linked to Charlton's, Radostin Kishishev.

And the club that Danny Butterfield has gone to has finally been revealed... it's Southampton.

the Saints are going to walk that division.

the world cup player that is having a trial with us is Aleksandar Radosavljević of Slovenia. he played against England. he is in the team against Chelsea today. half-time it's 0-0.
