The League cup's crap anyway.
![]() Sounds like we played some good stuff though. Start putting chances away and it'll be a fun season. |

I'm not too bothered about going out last night. By all accounts we played well, created chances and looked the better team. The Zaha sending off didn't help and our penalties were woeful. Felt sorry for Speroni after his heroics in the shoot-out ended up counting for nothing. |

would have been nice to get through last night but
i'm not too bothered by the early exit. confirmation that Alan Lee has left for Huddersfield. he has signed a 2-year deal with them. i'm really surprised he has dropped down a division even for more money. good luck to him though. he served us well. Link |

Sad to see Lee depart. Good luck to him.
So, is it Counago and Zaha as the first choice strike pair (after Zaha's suspension is served)? |

Looks like 4-5-1, then. Hopefully Ambrose won't be out for too much longer.

here we go. we've been the better team but once again are unable to score and now we are 1-0 down.
and to add to the woe paddy mac has had to go off and has been replaced with obika so we are now 4-4-2. |

now 2-0 down. for all the nice football we play it's pointless because we have no one to put the ball in the net.

*sighs* This is fast reminding me of the 4-0 tonking we took from them at Selhurst last season.

it's not just up front where we have issues. we have them too at centre back. no one good enough to partner paddy and when he goes out the team we have even bigger problems.

I agree with that. We definitely need another decent centre-back in before Wednesday.
But I do still feel we will have a better second half of the season than first once the (virtually) new team has had the time to settle and gel a lot more. |

Full-time: Scunthorpe 3-0 Palace
I know it's still early doors etc, but that is a very poor result. Far from happy today. |

We had most of the possession again, we played some very good stuff again especially in the first half, knocked the ball around well, the passing and movement was good but we only had 2 shots on target the entire 90 minutes. That speaks volumes. If that gets rectified I'm sure it will be sooner rather than later that we start picking up points and wins.

I'm hoping you're right about our passing and stuff being good, just the shots on goal needing work. I didn't go, I'll get a match report from mates who did in due course. |
