i know we need to be patient while everything gels but it's getting tough to take now. even a draw would have been good, just to stop the run of defeats.

Eventually we will perhaps have a settled team - it must be much more difficult to play when you don't know the other players on your own team surely? |

Plus, as Bandit mentions we need to stop these run of defeats. Losing (like winning) can become a habit and one that is very difficult to get out of. But, no need to panic just yet! |

Yep, definitely going to be a test of character, not just for Burley but for everyone. We need to stop this rot starting with the home game against Pompey on Tuesday.

From BBS last night - Steve Parish answering a whole host of questions:
On Alan Lee leaving: Alan was in the last year of his contract, he turned 32 in August we got a decent offer from Huddersfield and they offered him a great contract, seemed like a good move all round Expectations for next few months: We need to win some games! On Davids: Edgars great, unfortunately he has had to return home due to family issues. Is there a possibility of signing Vaughan permanently: Yes On away fans being so close to family stand: We don't have a lot of choice really, honestly we've looked at everything but we will continue to keep an eye on it. with the more 'difficult' games we will give the away fans the whole AW and move them away from your end a little more as we have done in the past Thoughts on teams performance so far: Its going to take time I think , on paper I think the team looks great and I know the boys are working hard every day in training as are George , Dougie and Dean. I want to win as much as anyone so I cant say I'm happy On sorting a membership scheme: Yes, working on it, we need to sort out ticketing and which contractor we use , then we'll sort out On Speroni being too old to offer new contract: Not really as keepers play for longer typically also we didn't get an offer for Julian that we thought was right for the club On season ticket holders buying guest tickets: Talking to the Police about it Was Phil Brown considered for boss: He wasn't really, I think we thought he probably needed a break On how much personal time Palace take up: A lot but the days just got longer really as I have to manage my other work as well . Luckily Tag's going well and we have great great people there who do a lot of the work also On moving away from generic official website: We can get out of it and run our own I think one or two clubs do BUT. I design and develop web sites at Tag and they are costly and time consuming to get right , there are only a few of us at Palace and to take this on would be massive. Also we make decent money on advertising because they sell central packages of ads. I think we will try to work with the company to see if we can improve the look and feel of what they have. Any plans to offer Coppell a position at club: No plans at the moment but he's always welcome at the Palace How good is our academy really: We have a great academy which is in the top 25 in the country on terms of producing players that play regularly in the premiership , that fact is widely known Best way to entice other fans to come to Selhurst: depends where you sit and what you get out of football, if youre in the Holmesdale then I don't think there's an group of fans that are as passionate and vocal anywhere . Or they may enjoy the players area where you can get far closer to the dug outs , players etc than they can at Old Trafford! Also I've been to the Emirates and there's no banter, I love it when someone shouts something funny out and some one comes back with put down , thats all gone from those grounds. New marketing director starting soon shes gonna look into all the half time entertainment stuff On CPFC2010 positions: Phil is CEO , I'm Chairman with Martin, we do most of the football and business stuff. Stephen helps with ticketing and Jeremy is available for advice and help at any time. Much harder than anything I have ever done Is it hard to not let heart rule head: Its very hard but you do need to use both of them, the right answer isn't always logical. right now I think I am using my head a little too much and not enough instinct and passion. On CPFC2010 being enshrined in Palace history already with wiki page: Thats nice, I want to help create more history than that though , to be honest I'm over the we survived thing, I want us to have a better ground and some better results What do you love most about Palace: I love Palace because.... hard to explain but I do love Palace On creating so much happiness by saving club: I keep telling myself that but a win would be good wouldn't it! I'll take a scrappy one nil at the moment Do loan players rent or are in hotels: They all stay with me , they are all here now helping to answer questions ![]() Are you in SJ's old office: No Phil's there all day everyday so I gave him that. Could we sign Marrow after positive performance yesterday: Of course its a possibility, He looks a good player. you are right we did play well in Parts, Goals change games, their first pen and our near miss at 1-0 were the big turning points. We have to get goals when we are on top in games which we were for decent periods today. Did SJ leave behind any p***.'s for you in the office: He only left bills ![]() On Saracens rugby playing at Selhurst: I'd like the 500K but how do they manage the pitch , our groundsman would have a fit!! can't see them coming this far south in any event On improving attendances: we have just hired a new Marketing director to work on this Do you go to away games and if so, do you get ideas about Palace's matchday experience: We do , we were all there today and I agree i think we are a bit stale in a few areas , although I wasn't keen on their program layout, PM me about the rest of your experience, I absolutely want to improve what we do and nick every good idea we find Advertising 'Crystal Palace': we are working on it I promise!!! Best thing about owning Palace: Best thing is the reaction from the fans, no question, to feel this much a focal point for peoples lives , its a big responsibility but also a great feeling What chairman has been nicest so far: Sir John was lovely today, they are all nice when they win I'm most looking forward to the chairman at Man U , Chelsea, Arsenal and the rest of the premier boys when we get there!! Did you warn Burley on alleged drinking habits: How can you warn someone about something that is alleged. We got references from the ex owner and chairman of Ipswich and Southampton both would have employed George again in a heartbeat. I speak to George everyday and evening, I bet your gran drinks more than George, and who gives a toss anyway as long as it doesn't affect his conduct or his work. I gave up drinking 18 months ago , i was drunk when i made most of my money, I was stone cold sober when I invested in Palace! What does that tell you about drink? Anyone else joining consortium and would you be open to it: No one joined but we would look at anything at any time that moved the club forward I would like a fan on the board or in some other capacity at the club. we are looking at how to do this. as for investment thats going to be aimed at fans investing in long term things that will always be there like the training ground where the fans can ensure they wont lose their money but still hep the club massively On renewing Nike kit deal: we have a focus group looking at this, what we make etc, I must say the people that run the kit and shop do a good job, this is an area I have had the least complaints about On pre season tour plans: Seriously if anyone has any contacts for a good tour that would be great prep for the players and also could be funded or even make us a few bob then nows the time... On plans to return to motorbike racing: Next week at Donnington, missing the Burnley game!!!! Final words: Ok Guys, hope some of that helped. Clearly results are not what we would want but this is when we really need to get behind the side. Lets get as many of us there as possible Tuesday and make as much noise as we possibly can. We need a win to kick start the season and a Selhurst crowd making a lot of noise is worth a goal start at least. See you Tuesday!!! Up the Palace. |

1-1 at half-time.
Djilali hit the post just before the break. once again we've played well but without the lucky breaks in front of goal. |
