well pleased with tonight. hopefully that kick starts our season. tough game coming up on saturday against burnley so we needed a big confidence boost. vaughan getting a hattrick is great. class act.

Excellant all round performance. Going forward we did really well. Only blip was that comical goal we handed to them on a plate. Other than that everything came together nicely.
Vaughan's hat-trick was superb, especially his first goal. Hopefully we can now put some decent results together. |

just shows you how unpredictable football is I was at the game on Saturday where Palace, were pretty poor against Reading. Reading, only just scraped a draw against Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago and you go and beat Pompey with ease.
saw the goals from last night on sky. all of vaughans were class and well taken.

i'm hoping we can get to extend Vaughan's loan deal in January
until the end of the season. would be great if we could buy him outright but i think Everton valued him at £3m not so long ago. |

Early team news for tomorrow... Quote:
Wilfried Zaha returns to the Crystal Palace squad for the home game against Burnley.
The rookie striker has completed a three-match suspension after being sent off at Portsmouth in the Carling Cup last month. However, Zaha is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench after Everton loanee James Vaughan's hat-trick heroics against Pompey in the league on Tuesday night. Edgar Davids has been on compassionate leave following the recent death of his father and if the Dutch veteran remains unavailable boss George Burley could name an unchanged side following their 4-1 midweek success. On-loan Tottenham striker Jon Obika is close to returning after a calf injury but Darren Ambrose (leg), David Wright (calf), Lee Hills and winger Sean Scannell (both knee) are still on the sidelines. |

Burley has made one change from the starting XI that turned out against Portsmouth on Tuesday night, with Claude Davis in for Anthony Gardner. There is also a spot in the squad for Wilfried Zaha, who is given a place on the bench following his three match suspension.
1. Julian Speroni; 2. Nathaniel Clyne; 4. Claude Davis; 5. Paddy McCarthy; 8. Neil Danns; 9. James Vaughan; 10. Owen Garvan; 11. Andy Dorman; 15. Kieron Cadogan; 21. Kieran Djilali; 30. Alex Marrow Subs: 6. Adam Barrett;12. Calvin Andrew; 13. Lewis Price; 16. Wilfried Zaha; 19. Julian Bennett; 29 Stuart O'Keefe; 32. Pablo Counago |

Keeping a clean sheet was good and it was encouraging to see from the stats that we did have 11 shots, of which nearly half were on target.
Now if only we can keep this up in the next game, and convert some of the shots into goals, we can really think that progress is being made. |

Speroni made some top saves. And Davis was brilliant at the back.
Couldn't really get any passing going really. Almost nicked it at the end though. EDIT: Oh, and Millwall haha!

Pleased with the point, I think it's a good one. But more pleased with the clean sheet.
Once Davids and Ambrose are back the midfield will look stronger and obviously with the attacking prowess of Ambrose we'll also be more potent in front of goal. Millwall's result was a shocker! Well done, Watford!

definitely pleased with the draw cos for a while there it looked like we might not get one. unlucky right at the end with danns shot pushed onto the post. two games unbeaten now so we're slowly moving in the right direction.
that fox that appeared in the stands at one point looked a bit nippy. could be good on the wings!

it will be good to see Hills back.
just read that Davids is expected back to training on Friday but is unlikely to feature against Derby. hopefully he will be ready for the QPR & Millwall games. |

can't believe how we go from one extreme to the next each week, or how many red cards we've had so far this season.
we'll be lucky to get a draw now... |
