Yep, pleased with a point and the clean sheet. Obviously a huge improvement from Saturday and just shows that they are capable of decent performances if they put in the hard work and don't let their heads drop.

Only worry still is the lack of goals. We had the chances, especially in the second half, but once again failed to find the net.

decent enough point in the scheme of things. can't believe it's another away game without a goal. hopefully we're saving them all up for the qpr & millwall games!

on the negative side, danns has done his medial ligaments and will be out for at least 6 weeks.

Early team news:

Darren Ambrose could return from injury for Palace, but Claude Davis (back) and Neil Danns (knee) are out, while striker James Vaughan is suspended.

Anthony Gardner (ankle) and Adam Barrett (foot) are doubtful, while Lee Hills and Sean Scannell (both knee) are sidelined, as is David Wright (calf).

Not too confident about today, just hoping it's a good performance.

Really would love to win this one though.

Urgh, what a horrible way to finish.

Thought we gave a decent effort though. Could've won it were it not for some stupid mistakes.

A point was definitely deserved but this ability to shoot ourselves in the foot is getting to be ridiculous. Two horrendous errors that gift-wrapped their goals.

10 games gone and that is the point for me where there can be no more excuses about it being a new team and needing time to gel etc. We have an international break now but when we come back results have to improve or serious questions will have to be asked.

1st half we were good, more than matched them...

2nd half we were poor for 30 minutes but the last 15 we were good again and deserved the equaliser...

can't believe the 2 goals we gave away. both awful...

its bad enough that we struggle to score without resorting to giving away sloppy goals...

i'm not getting too worried as we still have the likes of hills, ambrose & vaughan to come back in but we must start picking up positive results in the next few games or it is going to be a long, hard, depressing winter for us all.

Fitness levels are ok but unfortunately due to injuries he was playing mostly out of position at left-back and clearly doesn't have the pace for there. However, he did switch back to his more familiar defensive-midfield role at the weekend against QPR but it was his sloppy back-pass that led to their first goal.

No doubt he is class, you can still see that but to be honest jury is still out until we get him playing regularly in his favourite position.

i'm annoyed about Saturdays result more than anything.
poor errors and lack of concentration are costing us dear.
that can't do anything good to morale.
we did play well at times during the match again but how
many times have we already said that this season and we
still ended up losing the game?

we better beat Millwall. i couldn't bear it if we lost that one.

And yet I still cannot find any kind of sympathy for him.

Anyone see his interview on SSN at the weekend and how he actually had the audacity to tell owners of Premiership teams how to run their clubs! Talk about irony!

yes, and i had to laugh. he seems to be putting himself about a bit again. i wonder if the rumours about him doing I'm A Celeb, Get Me Outta Here next month are true?

Early team news suggests we still have major problems...

Quote:
“Palace have problems up front as James Vaughan is still suspended, while Pablo Counago (hamstring) and Jon Obika (calf) are struggling with injuries.

They are also without key midfield duo Darren Ambrose (leg) and Neil Danns (knee), as well as full-backs David Wright (calf) and Lee Hills (knee).”

Those soft goals and subsequent collapse are getting too predictable. Horrible day.

dismal. i'm totally fed up now. fed up with playing well for periods but having no clue on how to put the ball in the net. fed up with the lack of bite in midfield. and fed up of the poor discipline and especially the liability that is claude davis. i'd be happy never to see him in a palace shirt again.

really down right now.

Pretty much sums up my feelings, too. Don't want to hear feeble excuses anymore about players needing time to gel or how well we played but luck was against us etc... The fact is we cannot score and the majority of the time don't look like scoring. The midfield lacks tenacity and invention and the strikers look inaffective.

Ok, things may change when Vaughan and Ambrose are back in the side but we cannot rely on two players to get us out of this mess. Others need to step up.

As for Davis - get rid. Liability is an understatement.

Frustrating, but no need to panic (blimey looking at the BBS! - that is a horrible place when we lose).

Thought we were very good in the first half - just need a finish to the attacks. Relying too much on Zaha to produce a bit of magic at the mo.

Vaughan and Ambrose can't return soon enough for that reason.

That was never a sending off by the way.

a lot of pressure for a 17-year old to have and even more
when its in a struggling team.

i'm despairing too especially having to lose to that lot. but
i do also believe things will change once Ambrose, Vaughan,
Danns, Scannell & Hills are in that starting line-up.

still very worrying how we cannot take chances when we
dominate teams then let our heads drop completely when
we go a goal down. both factors need to change immediately.
