i was really annoyed with the way we played at peterboro. we saw against city that we can pass the ball well, the movement and hunger was good too. then against peterboro all that had gone. yet again we will underachieve simply because we seem unable to have any kind of consistency with the way we play. frustrating doesn't even begin to describe it.

Looks like Watson finally got his move to QPR.
What happened to Soares after he left? I really thought him and Watson were future Premiership players. |

Its been confirmed that Claude Davis has signed a two-year deal.
But, not surprisingly, there was no striker coming in. At least we kept hold of Moses, Clyne, Scannell etc... |

Not much going on football-wise what with it being an International weekend.
However, a bit of news behind the scenes... The Dubai-based GAC group has extended its shirt sponsorship agreement with Crystal Palace. Palace, who signed Farnrise Construction Ltd as a platinum sponsor last month, sees GAC extend a partnership with Palace that first began in 2004. Crystal Palace chief executive Phil Alexander said... "This is a testimony to the quality of the relationship we have and an understanding from both sides of our mutual objectives. Crystal Palace is proud to have GAC on our shirts for another two seasons and I am sure that during that period we can repay their loyalty by once again gaining Premiership status. |

Freddy Sears scoring for the England U21s this past week, that's got to mean his first (official) goal for us is coming this weekend.

^ Lets hope so. I like him and I still think that once he gets going in the scoring charts he is capable of getting 20 for us this season. Or maybe thats my wishful thinking!

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has denied that he is interested in signing either Danny Webber or Jon Stead.
Webber is currently without a club and Stead has fallen down the pecking order at Roy Keane's Ipswich, but Warnock dismissed speculation linking him with either striker. Warnock will be without Stern John until the end of October as he tries to recover from a dislocated elbow, but the former Sheffield United boss says neither Webber nor Stead will be making the move to Selhurst Park. He said: "I spoke to him (Webber) last week but he rang me for advice more than anything. We want a big guy up front really. "We can't afford Jon Stead. I don't think we will be doing anything this week but we are still on the lookout for a striker, with John out until the end of October." |

Really proud of my 8 year old son.
At school yesterday he was rewarded with four tickets to a football match for his attendance and behaviour last year. He trotted up to the stage during assembly to collect them, opened the envelope and said in front of the entire school "oh no, theyre only bloomin charlton tickets, why would I want to go there?" Thats my boy!!!! |

Team News Deadline-day signing Claude Davis is expected to play at the back for Palace, who are without the suspended Paddy McCarthy. Stern John (elbow) and Calvin Andrew (knee) are out, so Freddie Sears and Alan Lee will continue in attack. |

final score: palace 0-4 scunthorpe
just never expected that. no disrespect to scunny who deserve the plaudits but that is a totally unacceptable result, especially at home. questions have to be asked after this, and lots of them! |

This was a humiliation. The autopsy can well and truly begin. A few more results like this in the next couple of games or so and how much longer before Jordan wields the axe again?
I'm fed up with hearing about how we only have too many kids or we have injuries etc blah, blah, blah. With the squad we have we should not be losing to anyone at home by 4 goals, let alone Scunthorpe (no disrespect intended). |

hopefully this will be a huge wake-up call and might be the huge kick up the backside we need. |

i was thinking the same thing. jordan is hardly a patient man. that said, i still think 6 games in is too early but if we're still struggling in and around the bottom 3 after 12 games then warnock's days could well be numbered.

Warnock's crappy tactics let us down, we end up just lumping it around the pitch all game.
4-3-3/4-5-1 with the players he picked today just doesn't work. |

Not heard what Warnock has had to say yet about this debacle... it will be interesting to see what his comments are.
Quote:
"I hope the lads go home tonight as embarrassed as me. We can't play like that. I can't think of a bigger embarrassment in my career.
"All you can do is apologise to the fans who I thought were terrific. I would crucify the manager if I was one of them after that." "I don't think Scunthorpe have scored a good goal. I'm not knocking them, we absolutely put it on a plate for them. They must think they won the pools." |

Thanks for the Warnock feedback. I hope he lived up to his reputation and gave them a proper b...g.
Yesterday was one of the worst afternoons at Selhurst I can remember because it was just so utterly pathetic. An awful ten minutes. I just knew we wouldn't get the penalty in the net, it was that sort of a day. I skipped the pub and went home in a sulk.

So, its QPR for us next tomorrow night. Warnock has promised to ring the changes. Looks like Sean Scannell, Nathanial Clyne, Nick Carle and Ryan Smith could all feature. Plus, Paddy McCarthy returns from suspension.
