advice re:DVD's which play VCD
Hi
I recently bought a 42" Pioneer HD ready from currys. As an incentive they gave me a sony blu ray player BSP 300. As I watch a lot of region 3 VCD's [indian] the originally offered samsung blu ray player was replaced by sony's as currys assuered me that sony blu ray player will play vcd's. Unfortunately it doesnt and i am in a dilemma! Could you please tell me which DVD players will play vcd's? Toshiba SD280 E looks ok. I do not want anything expenisve but at the same time want something whichh is compatible with the new tv? a silly question-does the dvd player upscale vcd's as well?! Thanks for all your help Alex |

Pretty much any cheapo supermarket £20 DVD player will play VCD's.
Upscaling may help a bit but on a TV that size, the picture from a VCD is gonna pretty horrible regardless what you do as the resolution of a VCD is so poor to start with. |
