From the Orcadian site ....

''Orkney's tenth annual beer festival is under way in the Stromness Hotel. Among the attractions this year was the official launch of a new cask stout - unsurprisingly named Cameron Stout.

This year's festival will also feature Cameron Strongarm, Scotland's Champion Beer, Harviestoun's Bitter, as well as 17 other selected beers from Scotland and England....''

Third Item Down.

I'm sure Cameron's lawyers will be in touch.

Not because he wouldn't endorse alcohol, but to make sure he gets a cut of the profits

Euuuch! Noticed the picture of Sham on the pump.
The barmaid will no doubt keep going around bragging that she pulled Cameron last night.

*ultimate and final proof of his two facedness*

or

a cheap stunt, and obvious gag (*Stout*) to promote tourism in Orkney.

its an outrage. the man should clearly be shot for this outrageous hypocrisy.

this is just in keeping with what he said about how he has his beliefs, but doesn't preach them to other people ie he doesn't like to drink himself, but doesn't wholeheartedly dissaprove of others drinking.

if he had been disapproving and critical of other people drinking, then this would have been far more hypocritical IMO.

don't see the fuss myself, but i suppose its fun slagging off cameron for everything he does, eh?

Actually Iain......Cameron does drink, he just wouldn't drink in the house for some reason...he was however a little condecending of housemates who did.......

But sweet Cam surely knows that a Brewery wants people to drink A LOT to make profit

One pint a day wouldnt make them rich

He is after all a manager, so we should hope basic economic truths are within his cerebral crasp

he doesn't own the brewery and it isn't down to him if they've named a beer after him.

you know fine well about his attitude on drink.

Why dont you try to look at the whole picture for a change instead of discussing the minute details.

The list of his two-facedness becomes longer and longer. No amount of anal blabla will change that

he doesn't particularly like to drink himself, and doesn't really like it when people drink to much?

i am looking at whole picture - ie in this instance Cameron doesn't like to drink himself, but accepts that others do.

aren't the ones who latch on to every detail of cameron's behaviour and making it out to be some Big Deal the ones discussing the minute details?

No you dont, the whole picture involves marketing an alcoholic product in a society which wants to maximize profits, therefore wants to sell as much as possible, with the help of "celebrities".

How is selling and promoting drink a minute detail ?

My my how low can Cameron sink? Agreeing to be photographed with a local beer that has a play on his name in his hand?

I don't know how he can bring himself to do this seeing how he chose not to drink to excess on television, and how he cheerfully socialised when others were drinking.

He has never said he is teetotal. And as far as I know, christians are not forbidden to drink, or endorse beer. There is such a thing as occasional social drinking - it won't be his fault if others choose to drink too much of it!

Surely as someone not wanting people to drink to much you dont promote it .

Sorry its just a pathetic argument in a profit making society. but poor innocent cam doesnt see that of course, thats why he is a high level manager and studied economic.

Dangerous brothers wasnt such a bad term after all!
