He's photographed standing in a pub by the pumps which have his name & photograph on. OK I got that bit.
The 'safe money' threats of violence & hypocricy, I'm not to sure about.
Are you saying, while he was in the pub, standing by the beer pumps, he used threats of violence & took the money from the safe?

probably.

they might try and say its just a gimmicky ale made by a small scottish brewer for a beer festival in Orkney, and cameron being photographed pulling a pint is just promotional gimmick which may or may not help to promote tourism in Orkney....

...but i know really that this is the work of The Devil Himself...

honestly - you don't think you guys are worrying too much about this?

Everyone is assuming that it's alcoholic beer, it's unlikely but it could be non alchoholic.
Anyone know for certain?

Quote from Ciixii above!

No Ciixxii, it was only to state that Cameron's noticebale hypocrisy allows him to endorse a product he's been wont to criticize.
The "tie-in" is he also purports to be peaceful and I maintain he's being hypocritical about that too!
I hadn't considered whether he was thief or not...

The beer could be non alcoholic. That's a point!

well thats level 1 of promotion.

So you are telling me that the brewer just wants all people to drink Cameron Stout and not drink all there other brands, so that not more but different alcohol is consumed

it seems more likely in a market economy that they want you to drink more as that increases profits. So the aim is to get you buy more on level 2.
”

you really are worrying too much about this.....

Quote:
“Still a devote christian promoting a drink with his name AND face on it on a beer festival must be the joke of the century ”

why - don't *christians* drink?

Don't know about all churches, but the Salvation Army and Presbyterians both use orange juice instead of wine for communion.

As for Jesus turning water into wine. That's a common one brought up by people to support drinking, however you have to take the story within historical context.

In Jesus' time wine with a low alcohol content was drunk with meals simply because the water wasn't always safe. Bear in mind that the miracle happened at a wedding feast when the hosts wouldn't want to poison their guests.

Think less of wine and more of grape juice and you'd be closer to the mark.
”

Thanks for your response, however as a small scale home wine maker myself I can only marvel at these people in Jesus' time who managed to make low alcohol wine, that was quite an achievement!

was he critical of alcohol, or was he critical of drunken behaviour?

and don't say *ah but alcohol causes drunken behaviour* because sure as eggs is eggs I'll point out that you can drink alcohol without necessarily getting drunk.

crazy i know, but there you go.

or it might just be the sort you can drink in moderation without turning into a drunken lout?

that drinking in moderation is hardly the reality ------------->AT A BEER FESTIVAL<--------------------
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
”

i don't know - i'm sure many who frequent beer festivals are often buffs who appreciate the wide ranging and subtle differences in the hops and barley, and don't go round getting loutish.

is the problem with this the theory that some people might drink *a lot* of this beer?

where are we drawing that line?

are you sure you're not worrying about this too much?

Hypocrisy!

He's a full time hypocrite and this is what put me off him after week 2 or 3.
”

Sorry to contradict you again Maisymoo, but being a Christian doesn't stop you from drinking or endorsing drink.
Cliif Richard is a Christian, who owns a vineyard in Portugal & sells his own label wine. Elton John says Cliff can regurlarly drink him under the table.
So does this make Cliff a worse Christian than Cameron?

Like I said. Think grape juice rather than modern day wine and you'll be closer to the mark of what was served at the table in those days.

I'm sure there's features about it online but I can't be bothered to go and chase one down at the moment. Personally I'm only quoting from the bible history I studied.

so - to you i'm *making little comments*, to me i'm just joining in the discussion.

is that a problem because i don't agree with most of you?

*if you don't agree with us lot, don't post* kind of attitude?

lets face it - i've copped most of the grief here lately anyway.

No Iain, you make comments all the time, picking up on every little thing. Even topics that are relatively lighthearted take on more sinister overtones by the time you've finished casting an eye over them.

Looks like this could be about the sum of it according to this article on Tamara's link page

The Press and Journal 23/08/2003
CAMERON WILL BE ON TAP AT ISLES' BEER FESTIVAL

• A Beer called Stout would normally be guaranteed to confuse drinkers, yet tipplers on Orkney will be in no doubt who it is for this weekend.
• Orkney Cameron Stout, which features a picture of Cameron on the pump, is among several local ales on sale at the 10th Orkney Beer Festival.
• Luke Kendall, assistant brewer at Orkney Brewery said: "This is a special one-off beer just for the festival.
• "It's a bit of fun and shows how highly we regard Cameron."
• Asked whether the beer would be produced after the festival if it proved a success with drinkers, Mr Kendall said: "We haven't really thought that far ahead, we would have to ask Cameron."
• Cameron is believed to have left Orkney earlier this week to continue what has been a hectic social diary since he won the TV contest.

Probably, but if they brought out a brand of coffee called 'Tea' that would probably confuse some punters too

What is the difference, anyway?
