Quick and Easy way to remove scratches?
Adam D

On the back of an ipod touch?

It has been in a rubber silicone (sp?) case since i have had it, but the back is pretty scratched with very light marks,
i say scratches, there are some, but the most of it, that covers it all are just 'marks' im not sure how to explain it, but im sure someone will understand .

next time user a bestskinsever / invisible shield type film to protect the case.
you can also use silicon over that, it prevents all scratches.
brasso cleaner + tons of elbow grease may work.

I dont want to use brasso cleaner if it has the chance of ruining it.

Where can i get this film you speak of?
Might be of some use to me for the iphone if i get one,

Mine is the same, had it in a leather wallet since it came and it still has managed to collect small scratches across the back, you would think Apple would learn and invent some kind of anti scratch backing!

Tell me about it, its been in this and obviously i would expect something to get in it to mark, but the whole back is no longer 'mirror' like.

Silvo as opposed to Brasso is less harsh and has less ammonia in it.

I've kept mine in a Sock (the iPod kind) since I first got it. the back now looks more like a 'brushed steel' effect than a mirror.
Meh, as long as it works, I'm not that bothered really.

Have you tried Jewelers polishing cloths?

yep, mines exactly the same as you lot are describing. a "brushed steel" effect.

Ive given up caring now, I just chuck it into the plastic carrier that I take to and from work.
Which has house keys, work key, loose change, and all sorts of scrathy junk in it. I should take more care of my beloved pod-i, really!

WD40...I swear by it and it works on removing surface marks with ease.

when i got my 1st ipod in 2004 i got a silicone cover for it, never took it out since i got it, and that had 'marks' all over it... i assumed the silicone must have somehow 'scuffed' it, kindof like rubber burns..

lucky me bought from argos tho, so when my earphones sounded crap after playing music too loud.. i took back to argos, complained and got a brand new ipod! HAHA didnt bother with the case with that, and it stayed polished and clean for longer
