Ok, I don't really dislike Kate, but watching RI:SE, her lack of genius and shallowness drives me to distraction at times. I don't know whether to laugh or shout "you f***ing dimwit" at the screen sometimes.

But I feel, somehow, that her lack of clue really needs to be celebrated in some way, therefore, I name this thread "Classic Kate Clueless Quotes". Please feel free to add if you hear her utter something totally brainless or shallow during any tv appearance

As I say, though, I don't mind Kate that much,, so please don't turn this into a "why I hate Kate" thread, mainly quotes only please

Ok, I start with todays thoughless, fatuous remark, to Simone, who got kicked out of Fame Academy on saturday. "What a shame, you looked great though, if it had been down to who looked the best, you would have stayed in easy".

Errr, Kate, the whole point of the show is that it's a singing contest.

I look forward to see Kate presenting "Best Blinging Outfit Idol"

Bless her, I like kate and her kateisms are great too.

How about when she thought Sean Connery was American
or when she didn't know what an inbread was.

How ironic it is that Jade was singled out as the dimwit of BB3.Yes she was a dimwit, but she was a dimwit with style.

She was actually a more feminine and classy woman than Kate as far as I am concerned.

So many, I only remember a couple of more recent ones at the moment.

Kate: Vissscount.
Ian: What did you say?
Kate (clueless puzzled look): no I'm not saying it again.
Ian: go on say it again
Kate: Vissscount?

Also, "Where's Morecambe?"
OK maybe others don't know but on National TV she would have been better keeping her silence at this point......

Kate with Baywatch’s Gena Lee Nolin. Gena said to Kate “I was invited to take part in Celebrity Survivor.”

Kate replied : “What, as a celebrity?”

We have to keep this thread going, it's excellent, much lacking for a long time.

I have been watching some of it for a few weeks now, I find it quite amusing sometimes and love Kate's gaffes - not that I'm watching purely to knock her for them, I do find them quite entertaining.

This isn't really a gaffe or funny, I was just stumped.
Today there was a 'home-makeover' person on, I forget the name, was half asleep.
Kate produced a pic of half a living room, empty, her new flat, with a balcony in main view.
She asked what she could do with the balcony.

[Well, imho there's only so much you can do with a small railed balcony and that would involve pot plants and possibly furniture.]

The woman was understandably a bit stumped for a while.
I think she said something like........errrrm.......I would sugest some plants maybe...................

Today

Adam Hart-Davis "Today Mars is the closest it's been to earth for a very long time"
Kate "Is it dangerous?"

Yes, thats right Kate, mars is about to come crashing into us

I'm sure if that was pure Kate, or she was told to ask that for RI:SE's rather less scientifically clued up viewers. Alternatively, they may be giving Kate stupid questions for the humour value. But it didn't feel totally spontanious to me *shrug*

Ok I can't remember the exact quotes but this was typical kate.
There was a bit on the band Elbow on the entertainment report today and Kate said something like "Ooh they seem really nice"
To which Dougie said " Well you've met them"
"Have I ? "
"You interviewed them on this show a couple of weeks ago"
"Oh well I meet so many people I can't remember them all"

Mine isn't a clueless quote as such, but I'll tell you again anyway as I was so astounded at the time!

One time, just as the ads finished, the camera went on to Kate. She looked at the camera, looked down and read her notes, looked back up and said:

'Welcome back to Rise, I'm Kate.'

This girl is getting £100,000 per year to do that job and she can't even introduce herself to the camera without reading her notes first to remember her name!

Hmmmm.... I admit I never watch Kate on RI:SE.... however I do have a bit of an issue with this thread..... it's in the Title.....!!!!

From the examples I have read.... the adjective "Classic" is sadly misused.....

Classic - being a typical example of something; of lasting interest because of excellence; attractive because of simplicity of form.

I think we can safely leave the 'classic' description to the quips, comments, etc. of Jon and Alex with the occasional Jadeism....

Otherwise the Title of.... "Kate Clueless Quotes" seems apt enough.....

(Sorry RG... ...)

Pedantic, you beat me to it again. I was going to make a post along vaguely similar lines. I had thought of listing a select few of Kate's numerous howlers from this morning's particularly diabolical 'interview' with the Home and Away actor called Martin (it was a gaffe a minute, perhaps literally). However, this thread seems to be a celebration of Kate's crassness, so it's probably not the right place for me to post, since I find her stupidity and ignorance appalling and embarrassing, rather than endearing or amusing. This thread smacks to me of spin - trying to turn a negative into a positive. If it is intentional, it's an act of manipulation Kate herself would be proud of, if only she had the brains to think of it.
