Orange - No Way of checking Remaining Text Allowance
Hi,
Is anybody else having problems checking their remaining minutes and texts via 150. When I try it just tells me that I have 30 minutes of video calling left and when I go to check the texts I get "Sorry you don't appear to have that bundle" I am on the Canary 30 tarrif and this has been going on for about a month now. I have contacted CS on numerous occassions and keep being told that their is a problem, but it is a non important fault and as Orange have millions of customers their is no eta on it being fixed, he then went on to explain that this feature is an optional feature that orange gives to its customers. ![]() As a new customer I feel this is a joke, surely they must provide a way for customers to check their remaning minutes and texts, otherwise how can the customer be held responsible for going over their allowance. ![]() If I log on to my account online I can see the remaining minutes but there is nothing about texts. ![]() I just want to see if any other people are having this problem, 30 minutes of video calling is useless to me as I don't even use this, it is a free trial that has been there since I started with them 2 months ago. I find this absolutely appalling... ![]() Regards |

The best thing to do until they get this rectified is each month on your billing date, reset your message counters and call log thing on your phone to keep track of your allowance, I know it mightn't be ideal, nor accurate, but it's one of the only solution I can think of for you.

I appreciate that I can do that but I have a Blacberry 8320 which doesn't give me a counted total of texts sent meaning that I have to count each one up individually which as you can imagine is time consuming to say the least, especially at up to 500 a month and a task that Orange shouldn't be expecting me or other customers to do.
I am beginning to believe that this is an isolated case as it is not being widely discussed, could be that Orange are fobbing me off. Thanks for the advise anyway, much appreciated. |

No this is the problem, they say there is a fault which is preventing the balance from being available on both 150 and online, though online does give me remaining minutes but nothing regarding texts.

View your account online and see your useage and whats left or Send a blank Text to 21202 and receive the balance remaining by text instantly or Ring up CS and get the balance info by a phone call good luck |

Trust me, it's not an isolated case, loads of people are calling up about it and the best advice billing CSRs are giving is the advice I gave you in that earlier post til they get it fixed.
I have a counter on mine ( E250 ) Samsung but it only tells me Last Call time ( Mins ) Total Mins called Total Mins dialled No info on texts sent |

Well its working for me and always has, 150, then 1,1, and 1for min or 1 for txts, you could just go to the orange homepage on your phone and go to "your account" and it shows it there too. They seem to have added it online too but dont know of they have fixed the changing bundles/plans online yet and that has not worked for over a year.

Does sending to this text to that number effectively use up one text allowance? |

Nope its still free ( On contract ) They don't even appear on your bill as sent text Quote:
You can access your remaining allowance via your online bill at www.o2.co.uk. Or you can send a blank text to shortcode 21202 (this is free of charge).
A text will be returned detailing your remaining allowances and recent usage charges. The text will also contain a WAP URL which you can access to get more detailed information about allowances, balance and recent charges. You can bookmark this link on their handset for future use. |
