Raef has signed a deal with Richard & Judy to appear with them in their new UKTV chatshow, Watch, in autumn, after they leave Channel 4 in August.

Well good luck to him.

When raef was still in the Apprentice I said that he ought to win it and that he would make a good TV presenter.
So, now he's doing better than people Suralan thought were better than him.
Nice to be proved right for once.

suralan should be fired from next years show.

Shame Punch and Judy are now going to be on a channel most people can't get, and wouldn't watch even if they could. Still, nice work Raef

Tha article refers to him as "a presenter"... maybe they'll call it "Richard, Raef and Judy"- that would probably get more viewers if they stuck his name in it.

All in all I consider this a pity though as I'd secretly hoped/imagined Raef would end up presenting a show where people could gamble their life savings in the hope of trebling it on something like the toss of a coin.. The name of the show? I was thinking "Prince or Pauper.."

(Sorry!)

^ Deserves every bit of success he gets. Hopefully one day he will get his own show. I guess this is a classy start.

Sorry to say this and I know I am going to get lynched, but does anyone feel that Raefs credability as a business person is going down hill with all these media and TV jobs (not to mention Dancing on ice).

To me it seems now that Raef never wanted the job and just wanted to use it as a platform to TV stardom, which to me cheapens what he did on the show and makes his firing more justified.

He's maximising the opportunities whilst they're there - who wouldn't? They won't all get a shot at a media career because not only do you have to have presence and personality, it helps if the camera kinda likes you too. There isn't one of them that would turn the opportunity for a media career down...which doesnt necessairily mean he was rightfully 'fired'.

After all for some, and especially for reality tv punters, a media career has a limited shelf life. And in Raef's case, it's not as though he was employed by a big corporate so he may still be able to keep his going concerns alive whilst he's trying his hands at presenting.

A lot of people (not me, mind) rightly or wrongly believe Ruth Badger should have won her series and yet she now has a media career.

I think Raef did want the job but having been turned down by SAS has looked for other opportunities. I do, however, agree that offers to date hardly herald the arrival of the next big thing on tv.

I was a Raef fan, but suggested that teaching dogs new tricks is hardly conducive to being taken seriously and was roundly criticised for saying so.

Still trying to work out why Alex's foray into the modelling world is considered tacky, but Raef's adventure with the doggies is 'a classy start,' and maximising his opportunities.'

DOI is new on me - has he been invited?

Clare quits Karren Brady job to pursue 'meeja' opportunities

Hardly anyone who goes in for a reality TV show would be be silly enough to turn down media opportunities...if offered.

That's the ultimate and doesn't preclude business acumen. The 2 can go hand in hand - look at the Dragon's Den panel!

Don't agree with your argument.

Apprentice wasn't a show to judge who would make the best presenter. The fact that he's doing better than those Sir Alan thought were better than him means nothing. They were judged to be better in the tasks and better in business, not in TV presenting.

SAS wanted to hire someone who could sell Amstrad boxes and make him a profit, vulgar profit if you wish.

In the tissue box task one team did better than the other in making a film to sell merchandise off the shelves.

The other team made an art film to sell themselves and their own agenda. By the end of the film there was not one good shot of the tissue box which potential buyers in their millions were supposed to recognise in the shops.
