Tonight on Sky one is Big Brothers little wedding which is an hour long programme about the wedding of Lee and Sophie from BB3.
And on Sky one mix afterwards there is Big Brother little wedding extra.
I kid you not.

It was a lot more media centred than I thought it would be.

I can understand why they sold it to ok and sky, but it doesn't sit comfortable with me the idea of putting your wedding up for sale to the highest bidder (to be blunt).

It was also a bit off when they ran past the gathered crowd in fear of having their photos taken (and losing the exclusive ok deal fee ).

Again I can sympathise with their reasons for doing it, it just leaves a bit of a nasty taste in the mouth . But there again, I'm sure their very much in love, and if they can make some money out of it, why not? ( I will not be so sympathetic if I hear Justine and Nick are getting married)

Wasn't Kate stunning? You can tell she was trying to play it down for fear of upstaging the bride, but she stood no chance

I quite agree, Kate stood no chance of upstaging the bride. Sophie looked gorgeous.

On a more serious note, I sort of agree with you about not 'selling' a wedding but I think Sophie summed it up well when she said photos of their wedding would only be sold to the magazines and papers anyway so why should they not be paid for the rights to them instead of strangers?

I think the worst thing about selling their photos was that none of the guests or family members were allowed to take pics of their own, so to have some, they will have to buy them off OK magazine, which is totaly unfair, I did hear sophie say that if the other papers got hold of things and ok pulled out she could not afford to pay for the wedding, but surely it had already been paid for, even if ok were paying for the lot and they decided to pull out, they couldnt take everything away again.

The deal they signed with ok was for exclusive pictures (ok have been stung in the past by paying for what they thought was excluisive pictures only to find out newspapers have got there first). ). If ok refused to pay, or pulled out. they S & L would have been faced with a big debt.

I forgot about the camera ban, I didn't know this was a policy at there wedding, but I did hear it about other magazine weddings. Again, i really don't know what I would have done in S & L positon (not that I ever would be in it), but to stop your relatives taking photo's is a "bit off".

Just reading an extract from the OK! article on Jade's reunion with Jeff this week. The interviewer asked Jade to comment on not being invited to Lee and Sophie's wedding.

Jade said she was not upset - stating: "Why invite people to your wedding that you don't know? I don't understand that. You won't get me asking Kate Lawler to be my maid of honour".

Agree/disagree with Jade?

When they were talking about inviting celebrity guests on BBLW, I'm sure I heard Lee considering inviting Jade.

Cue Mesostim.

I think Lee was being sarcastic when he said about inviting Jade, but when he said I wont invite people I dont know, surely he doesnt know Justine, or Jon, and craig was in BB1, I would have thought it would be the ones from BB3 he would have invited, I know he did most of them, but I just cant understand why he would invite the others from the other BB's, maybe the mag told him to to get more publicity or something.

I agree with Jades' point of view but it seems that she doesn't know the whole story. Sophie was on RI:SE the other day and was asked why she had asked people from other BB progs to her wedding. She said that her and Lee had met other BB contestants through doing TV stuff and promotional stuff. She said she wouldn't have asked people that they didn't know and that it didn't matter how many celebs were invited to their wedding. They would still have got paid the same amount whether it was 1 or 50 celebs.

So the fee from OK! was equivalent to the price of the wedding.

Anyone want to have a guess at what the wedding might have cost?

On the programme Sophie said that it was reported that they had signed a 100K deal. She then said something like - 'yeah, right' and sneered, as if to say, we should be so lucky.

I watched the repeat - I'd guess between ten and fifteen grand, if you're including the honeymoon. Probably closer to fifteen if you count in the money spent on security.

I watched it last night and I really felt for the pair of them. Your wedding is one of the most special days of your life. It must have been hard enough for them having to turn themselves over to the press to get some sort of privacy or at least some sort of control.

Weddings don't always come cheap and if I had the chance for someone to pay 10k or so to help along and help stop the tabloids poking their noses in then yes I would take it. I've not been in a good mood with the tabloids for a few years now. It must have been really stressful for them on top of all the stresses of getting married anyway.
