Lucky you - I went there (AGAIN) and was told I dont have sufficient ID - quite how I am supposed to prove my when I only just moved is beyond me. To be honest they are really shoddy in their organisation anyway - I might simply just give up right now with it as Apple are crap - quite why they didnt explain the ID issue or what would be regarded as sufficient yesterday is a bit pathetic.

Anyway - I might try tomorrow, I might not. I was in the store the same time as you by the way - the queue grew a hell of a lot after about 5.30.

Well done anyway!

What do you need to take with you,
the contract will have to be in one persons name, but out of another persons bank account, so both will go,

What information is needed?

You basically need a letter or utility bill with your name and address on.

A passport/driving license.

Debit/credit card in the same address as the letter.

and what about the person who's name it will be in, as they are not at the same address.

Hey
I am 13 and I am (hoping) to get an iPhone 3G soon.
As I am under 18, what would my dad need to do to get everything down under my name instead of his?
Thanks
Jamie

It should be OK provided the person whose account its from and who the credit will be made out to has the ID.

Oh no after all that effort! I bet you do end up going again though, I wasn't going to go yesterday but in the end couldn't resist

As far as id goes these are the requirements according to the official Apple site http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/iphone/

I rang up the store before I went to double check what I had would be ok, I then asked one of the Apple guys when I was in the queue as really didn't want to wait hours for nothing!

It will most likely just have to be in the adults name.

Can you downgrade at anytime or is it fixed for the whole 18 months?

can you only buy a new contract in the apple stores and not do your o2 upgrade.

I've had a look through all of this thread and feel like I should have one of these iPhones!
What is the thing that's making everyone queue up for hours etc to get one? Is it really that good? What are the main features? Thing is, i'm happy with T-Mobile and am I right in saying that you can't get one on T-Mob?
I know that in Germany, T-Mobile are the network powering these phones so could i get one from there and use here?
