Hey!
Does this report from DS basically confirm that West End's Miss Henshall will be back for Series 4?

Quote:
“The Dancing on Ice judges have demanded salary increases for the next series of the show.

Robin Cousins, Jason Gardiner, Ruthie Henshall and Nicky Slater told ITV bosses they each wanted a £60,000 pay rise following the recent reports over the massive pay demands of the X Factor judges. The proposed increase would take their salaries to £120,000 for the 12-week show.”

The guest judge each year has to be someone else.

ITV have confirmed that next year is an 11 week show (one more than this year) with a one off special planned for this Autumn.

You would have thought but it looks like she's here to stay!

I hope she isn't. Her inconsistent scoring patterns annoyed me.

I hope she's not back, I can't stand her and thought she was an awful judge. That said, they could always replace her with someone I hate even more, so maybe it's best if she stays.

One-off special in the Autumn? Any news about it?

I mentioned this elsewhere but I thought I'd put it here too. It's from Wikipedia so it's completely unreliable, especially as no source has been cited, but I just thought I'd mention it anyway:

Yeah, I've just commented on this! Lol.
I have seen no source to suggest this and we all know that Wiki isn't very reliable. In fact, I think I should change it to the original 4 and say that the 5th judge hasn't been announced but there have been rumours that NB or RH will be there.

In fact it's been changed back already! ...

Ruthieeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Ugh I hope not. She knows nothing about skating and Jason is already there to concentrate on the performance aspect. I also found her very inconsistent, sometimes praising complete rubbish and sometimes slating good routines.

Agreed. Ruthie's good at what she knows and does, but Natalia is far more appropriate for DOI. The language barrier was an issue for her, but that improves across time and she did bloody well considering how some of the others talked over her in interviews. I missed Natalia's input last year, and she seems lovely.

Well, given that Ruthie's a judge on the DOI Christmas special, I'm guessing she'll probably be back for series 4.

I didn't like her at first but as she settled in and got a better idea of what it was all about she grew on me. What I found interesting was how some people on another forum, who hadn't liked her on the tv series at all, posted how good it was when she was one of the judges on the tour. I think after all the guest judges who weren't skaters, dancers or performers, it was a relief to be in the hands of someone who wasn't judging according to whose costumes were their favourite colour or for other sillly reasons like that. I'll be quite happy to have her back for series 4 - I think!

I liked Natalia - I remember watching her compete in the 1980s, when Chris and Jayne were competing - and I was sorry she wasn't back for series 3 but, while her English is very good, it was hesitant and she often had to stop and search for the right word and ITV didn't have the patience, or more likely the time, to give her as long as she needed to express herself.

As I imagine ITV's looking to save money by having only UK-based judges instead of flying people in from overseas every week, I wonder if they've ever asked Anita Harris if she'd be interested in being a judge? Not only is she an excellent dancer and performer, she's also a very accomplished skater and she's been a guest on the (sadly discontinued) companion shows like Extra and Defrosted in the past. I'd have thought she would be excellent.

Memmh, I have often thought of how fabulous Anita Harris would be as a Judge on DOI.

Lol - it's been suggested a few times before on this forum. But I'd have thought that Anita Harris really would be an ideal judge.

Or Bonnie Langford......

A West End performer who can skate .....

I've suggested Bonnie a number of times but I'm not sure she'd want to judge people she'll then be skating with on tour. Although she's not doing this year's tour so it shouldn't be a problem

She's in Peter Pan this year, though, so she might not be able to be a judge as it could clash with her performance dates at the theatre.

Ruthie was on The Wright Stuff this morning & she said that she would be back judging DOI next year. She also said that she had lunch with the producers & they won't tell her who the celebs will be.

She must have made an impression on the Producers . I haven't made my mind up on Ruthie just yet. I'm sure after one more season, I will have learnt to love her .

I've heard rumours on Jason not returning? Can anybody deny or confirm this?

Ruthie confirmed it again on the BBC Christmas show this morning.

I don't have anything against Ruthie, or Jason, but it was too much with both of them being apparently oblivious to the skating side of things. The skating judges were able to take presentation into account, so they should have tried a bit harder to notice which ones had rubbish foot-work. I'm not a skating expert, but I was able to spot it, even if the skater in question had lovely arms and a nice smile!.
