bb usa 4 brill
hi all,
it my first time on the bb form and i have to say that the usa bb is brill, the uk bb will have to take ideas from this show especially allowing the contestants to talk about how they will vote, this is what made uk bb 1 so very good when nick tried to manipulate the voting before.this will with out doubt will make the show really exciting, and also put in a small gym for them to use. does any one agree? thanks beanhead |

I have to agree that allowing them to talk openly about nominations and tactics is what has really made this series interesting for me.
The ex's twist was original too, I'm not too sure about letting Jun out for a couple of days to fly to NY though but they have definitely produced a show which is of a lot more interest than watching Gos cooking or what's her name cleaning (sorry I forgot her already). |

I think it really brings out the game element, instead of everyone trying to be nice and not upsetting anybody which, let's face it, doesn't make great tv. People over here seem to forget it's just a game show and make it into a big deal. They would obviously have to stop having a public vote though...

What about if we had a HoH each week and they alone nominated? (like in the US) Then the public vote on the 2 that the HoH puts up for nomination. Would this not work?

Very interesting points people. I'm enjoying all the gameplay talk, its so much interesting than wondering what a certain HM will eat for their tea that night, or how long they stay in the shower (as if we are bothered), but these so called tid-bits were major pieces of action in our own British game.
If BB UK is to survive, hopefully we can adopt a few of their rules. Like, as said, discussing nominations. The show needs something, and the overseas format seems to work very well. I can't believe the competitions.. how imaginative compared to ours!!! The main and most intriguing difference i've found (it maybe because I just see the highlight shows) is that fact the players hardly ever mention the outside world, or seem bothered by being in the house, apart from a little cry here and there.... I'm loving it! |

thanks all for the replys, you cant get rid of the public vote thats a very important element,in fact that is the one thing missing from bb usa that i find strange,is there some regulation why there's no public voting?also the texting was a good addtion to bb uk it's nice to see comments both good and bad, they first used this in the salon which was a great show(apart from the twins)
is e4 not going to show bb usa again next year?there seems to be a small rumor on the forum that it may not be shown next year?i'm i hopefully wrong? thanks bean head |

I agree that our BB could do with some of the elements of BBUS, but wouldn't like to see the public vote done away with completely, and the housemates having the final say. If that had been the case, then Alex (BB3) and Jon (BB4) would have gone very early on, as neither were liked by the others. Perhaps a HOH and POV, but have the public vote on whoever was nominated. Or, have the public vote all week for who they wanted to keep in, and have the HOH make the final decision between the last 2. That would allow for scheming etc.

Just another thought, have they ever thought of doing a more global BB combining the different ideas? The language barriers may be a problem but Brits/US/Aussie's would be good to watch.

only the brits/usa/aussie would have language problems as most of the world speaks english, but the idea is good "INTERNATIONAL BIG BROTHER" using the us format would be quite interesting.

I'd just like to see how some of our contestants would get on in a USA type environment. Can you imagine if Cameron was in there with them?

I think that all of them would have acted differently under the different rules. The BBUS contestants know that they have to form allegiances, scheme etc. I think that Cam would have managed reasonably well. I also think that Nush would have succeeded, and Sissy. Even though he was my favourite, I don't think that Jon would have done well at all, as I think that he would alienate himself from any pack too quickly.
