ordinary O2 sim in iphone
Hi all,
![]() I have an O2 contract with 15 months to run. My old phone (N81 8gb which I really liked) came to a rather sticky end- the ins co were unable to source a replacement, so gave me some cash instead to replace. I'm in a quandry as to what to do- nice position to be in! I'd quite like to buy a locked non 3g iphone from ebay, but O2 have told me that the web functionality won't work unless I change to an iphone contract (+£££). I've been told elsewhere that I'd need to buy the unlimited web bolt-on for £10 pm, but I already have this (negotiated for free when I renewed my contract). While I really like the iphone, I don't think I want to pay out another £10 per month. To complicate, I am a big Nokia fan, and could get an N95 8gb or N82- both great phones and wouldn't involve extra expense! I'm also concerned by the poor camera and lack of pic messaging on the iphone. Advice greatly appreciated... Many thanks, Alex. |

The web browsing works even if you take the sim out.
I was randomly browsing my photos using the Air Me app, which takes pics and uploads them automatically to Flickr and noticed you can browse other peoples iPhone pics. Take a look at what the iphone camera can do (I dont know how good it is compared to other cameras): http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/airmeiphone/ |

Thanks pericom.
They're actually not as bad as I'd thought they'd be. The wife has an N82 and they're nowhere near as sharp as those, but I guess you don't buy an iphone for the camera really... Think I have to do it, now I've discovered that I can just put my sim in and all will work. A. |
