iPod Touch apps problem
TH14

I downloaded version 2.0 yesterday for my iPod Touch and downloaded the ign, ipint and last fm apps from the app store on the iPod Touch main screen. The apps downloaded fine but when I go to open them they open up to a blank screen for about 5 seconds then close. This happens to all the apps and I'm very disappointed as I paid for 2.0 for the apps. Does anyone know what I can/should do to get them working?

Also, my music now won't play either, I've rebooted the ipod as well I've done some searching around the net and apparently there's been loads of problems with 2.00. If I have to restore my iPod I presume I will lose all my music and vids. Will I also lose my version 2.0 and have to buy it all over again

first of all relax......... take a deep breathe lol

you have bought 2.0 so you will be able to restore to your hearts content with no additional charge.

the reason the apps close like that is for some reason the correct permissions on the apps files and folders have not been set properly when they were installed, this is a common problem with jailbroken ipods so I'm familiar with this. I found deleting apps off the touch then resyncing sorts any problems out.

if music is not playing then yeh something is deffinately wrong, I would suggest you restore, you will loose music and videos but as long as they are in itunes they will be synced back onto the touch.

if you have purchased items via iTunes store on the touch it's self simply right click on the touch in itunes before doing anything and click transfer purchases.

I had a similar problem with the Facebook app. I downloaded the firmware update then tried the T4Two Free 'Pong' game which worked fine. I then downloaded the Facebook app, launched it and it started up then just closed, it kept doing this each time. I tried the T4Two game and this started doing the same thing!! (Even though it had been working initially). I was paniking like you, thinking I would loose alsorts of data or even that my iPod was corrupted or something (the recent news about the PS3 firmware update problems were in my mind). But I decided to try resyncing with my PC and as soon as I did that, the applications worked, although strangly I did have to delete and download the T4Two game again.

It has happended since (but thankfully only once) so there must be a bug with the Firmware, hopefully will be fixed soon.
