On another day I think that goal would have gone our way but regardless of that the lads played well and I hope they can reflect on the good points of the match rather than dwell on the result. Although I'm calling it 1-1 anyway!

Still astounded that Macherano didn't get anything for the elbow connection he seemed to make with Beckford's head.
dont think the ref saw it. Yellow minimum for me though.

Just got back from the game.

All i have to say is we did ourselves proud tonight, everyone played their socks off, if we can play like that all season we'll secure promotion definitely, beckford seemed to be hit and miss which was the only downer on the night.

The atmosphere was fantastic, we didnt stop singing for 90 minutes and beyond, really getting behind the boys and pushing them on.

Nice to here some old chants come out tonight aswell, made me miss the glory days abit more.

all in all.......Proud!

So the much anticipated game against Liverpool has come and gone and its the Leeds fans who can hold our heads high with pride. Ok we didnt win but the players, managment and most of all the fans have done us proud tonight and showed the world what Leeds United are all about.

Liverpool had some big players out there tonight and Benitez showed respect to Leeds on more than one occasion, not only with his stating line up (much stronger than most had anticipated but also with his choice of substitutions, Glen Johnson and Steven Gerrard strutted onto the Elland Road turf when im sure Benitez would rather have not used them, Torres was then poised to come on but instead he was told to sit down and on came defender Skirtel (much praise for Leeds indeed.

The applause for the players at the end says it all and if Leeds where playing a league one side tonight they would have won at a canter.

Tonight is a night to be proud not disapointed. If we have learnt anything fron tonight its that we need Elland road to be like this more often (lets hope some
of the stayaways who turned up tonight keep coming along to support the lads, forget Bates, forget the league we are in for one moment and get behind this manager and these lads, they deserve it)

Well done Mr Grayson and to all the players for making the Leeds fans very proud tonight (and so far this season)

When all those non scouser glory supporting Liverpool fans come up to you giving you stick at work, in School or in the dole que just smile and bask in the fact that you support the greatest supported team in the land.

I dont think Leeds fans will get any stick tomorrow.

You played better and had it not been for a few incidents you could well be going through.

Fair play to Liverpool for putting you out but i hope you walk your division this year.

I have no love for Leeds but id rather hate you in the same division again!

Played Brilliant - Liverpool who! Pity we didn't take chances could of been 3 up at halftime.

Charlton beware we are on fire! Lets get back to league, 3 points away to MK Dons and we be on fire!

I agree, i hope the players take heart from the match and get to the heights where they can play infront of 38k every week, i know it spurred us fans on, i was still buzzing the next day from the atmosphere and felt as if we won!

Roll on MK Don-alds at the weekend, 2-1 to us i think

Great resut - Me mate texted me from game said it was a hard fought victory but he went mental with the other 4000thousand away supporters when Snodgrass popped up with the winner deep into injury time. Brilliant result today that keeps us top!

Carlisle is always a hard game - Think Colchester can hold Charlton though!

Saturday is going to intresting, 2 weeks ago we were both running away with the League, but in the last few weeks we have both slowed down a bit, we were lucky toi beat Plastics at the we, and i gather you rode your luck against Exeter come to think of it we struggled against then on the opening day too
We were poor last night lucky for us we played a poor team in Carlisle got a doggy penalty, it want in a million years and to make matters worse we hyave injuries to key players in Higgs, and Snodgrass, having watched the highlights on Sky you looked worse than we did last night
but one thing we did last night, is we changed a winning Team by playing Naylor our Captain when he lookedc rusty and dropping Lubo, who played brilliantly on Saturday against Plastics
28,000 tickets sold for Saturday ex yours that is so looking for 30,000 for this one, i had booked a trip to Belfast in June so i sadly wont be there said id take Er away at end of Sept

(my post from Charlton site)

Although we only a need a Draw to recaim top spot i think it will be a very tough game, against inform Norwich, we can win there is no question about that, but whether we will is another matter altogether,

Was at ER last night and it was probably the biggest test we've had this season, Norwich look the real deal, Promotion rivals of the highest order, but we played to the 94th minute and got a great win, felt the ref and linesman weren't on our side for much of the match, especially with afew 'offside' decisions.

When Beckford scored the winner, well, ER erupted, it felt asif we'd won promotion there and then, i was jumping about so much i lost my balance and nearly fell afew rows forward, quite afew did it though so didn't feel to bad, at the final whistle to see ER bouncing to chants of 'We are top of the league' was awesome.

If we can win when we are playing pretty bad, well we can storm the league if we hit our proper stride!

The one's in the kop net? They've been in elland road for afew months now, they're all about Netflights.com's getaway giveaway, where you photo yourself in a leeds shirt abroad and post it on a website to get entered into a fee holiday draw, nothing to do with liverpool beachball incident like SSN thought, was funny to see them though, one bloke behind me said, 'we should keep one at side of pitch just incase'

I was there too and totally agree. Norwich were certainly a fine side but putting the ball in the net is what counts not possession.

After the dreadful performance against Charlton I was getting a bit worried we were getting stale and predictable. Grayson's signing of the two loan players is inspired and seems to have reinvigorated us.

I recall a similar brilliant start in 1973. I hope ours continues.

We went 13 Games unbeaten first season in L1, then we lost to Carlisle 2 tough aways comin up, but for som,e reason i think Bristol rovers will be tougher than Millwall
Dont know why but just have feelin it will be

Grayson said that Norwich caused more problems then Liverpool did, which i guess isnt hard on current form

Went to watch the Leeds v Norwich game last night and sat through a frustrating 90 mins where Norwich played very well and we didn't.

Then...... 90:00+1:49 GOAL - Jermaine Beckford:
Leeds United 2 - 1 Norwich A goal is scored by Jermaine Beckford from just outside the penalty box to the bottom left corner of the goal. Leeds 2-1 Norwich.

Norwich fans were in good voice until then and must have a shite journey back home.

Leeds manager Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds:

"I thought Norwich were excellent and that's the hardest game we've had this season.

"We played Liverpool a few weeks ago and they didn't give us the problems Norwich did.

"We knew they would cause us problems but we have got a desire at this club to keep going and get results when we haven't played as well as we can do."

2 points clear with a game in hand now and one of the seasons tougher games behind us is a good poisition to be in. It's games like last nights we would have lost last season.

PS Shite ref

And today you've now handed a particular baton to Newport County of Conference South. They are now the highest placed unbeaten side in the England(/Wales) football system.

Still top though due to the Addicks dropping points in the A2 derby.
