Yep not bothered about losing, I fully expected that we would.

But we showed no real fight, no creativity, didnt really play as a team, looks like we're still figuring out how to play 4-4-2 after playing 4-5-1 most of last season, still can't defend. Gradel was our main attacking threat but without him we create nothing.

So pretty much the same as we've looked in pretty much every league game so far this season as well.

Telegraph article here

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...tre-stage.html

As for the match itself - totally outclassed by a very good 2nd string Man United team. Dominated. Just concentrate on leage now which I was hoping for.

But Bates has to open that wallet. We need couple of defenders and another midfielder.

Snodgrass had his worst game in a Leeds shirt tonight. Off the pace didn't look interested at all and Howson went missing most of game.

Clayton wan immense again and we have a class act in him.

But Man United definitely deserverd the victory and have a very strong team.

Man utd fans are complaining of bottles and coins being thrown at them before and after game and i understand two fans were taken to Hospital, as well , not good to see, but then again the fan who was walking around with a Galla flag rapped round him was not only asking for trouble he got it by all accounts ,

Actually, I remember making the point 18 months ago that 9,000 Leeds fans went to Old Trafford and were widely expected to sing all sorts of songs about Munich, but didn't sing any - we just sang songs in support of our team. Shame that the Man Utd fans who went to Elland Road last night didn't show the same sort of respect.

The articles about last night actually make a point of saying that the Leeds fans didn't respond by singing about Munich. We don't sing that stuff any more, I've not heard it at a Leeds game in years.

Anyway, now that distraction is over it's Brighton on Friday. Will be interesting to see if any more loan players come in because we still seem to lack anyone capable of playing left midfield, desperately need someone to do that rather than playing strikers there.

I'm also wondering how much longer we can persevere with Howson in central midfield in a 4-4-2, he was fine as the attacking CM in a central 3 last season but goes missing too often in a 2 man central midfield.

Would like to see vayrynen in there for brighton. I agree Snoddy was poor last night but he's been decent so far so can't see him being dropped. And Clayton was excellent as ever!

Exactly.

There are no clean hands when it comes to idiotic fans, but for some reason, the media only reported the man utd fans.

Yes, there are idiotic fans on all sides. I still haven't personally heard Leeds fans sining Munich songs at a game for years, if I did I'd tell the people doing it to shut up.

The reason the media are reporting the Man Utd fans is that they turned up at Elland Road last night with Turkish/Galatasaray flags, banners, shirts etc. Leeds United didn't do anything like that the last time we played at Old Trafford.

But anyway, if you really want to debate this, start a separate thread on it. This is the Leeds United supporters thread, I've no real interest in having discussions with Man Utd supporters in here.

Well watched the Brighton - Liverpool game last night in advance of our trip to the South Coast tomorrow and Brighton put in a much better performance vs Liverpool than we did against Man Utd.

Can't see us getting anything out of the game at their place, the only positive might be the fact that they have only 2 days to recover, whereas we haven't really played this week so will be well rested.

Yeah decent signing getting Pugh back, solid Championship player and we desperately needed someone to play on the left since Gradel was sold.

It does seem kinda strange to be resigning these players that left 5-6 years ago though (first Keogh, now Pugh) - they went on to play in the Premier League, while we went on to get relegated to League 1. Just brings home how clueless our management was at the time.

A draw wouldn't be a bad result.

That was a fantastic game- open and attacking football from both teams- we (Brighton) looked great 1st 15 minutes of the 2nd half and I thought we'd got all 3 points but credit to you guys for staying at it until the end.

Just back from Brighton, eventful game that was!

Overall can't be too dissappointed with a point at Brighton I suppose, but defensively we're a joke. We'll never get out of this league if we continue to concede 2+ goals a game on average.

I think I need to watch the game back on Sky to make sense of what was actually going on with the goals though - although the penalty did look a bit soft (but then it was at the other end of the pitch to where we were so I could well be wrong.)

But from that interview it sounds like Grayson has no idea what to do about the defence either, which isn't too encouraging.

Have to say actually, credit to Brighton cos the Amex is a cracking stadium, these new stadia are often lifeless bowls but the atmosphere was great tonight, and the Brighton fans were excellent.

Plus Gus Poyet is a top bloke.

Cheers for that. Yep, crap defending.

It is worrying thought that Grayson seems to have no idea how to sort the defence out. He said something like - we've got 5 central defenders at the club, we keep trying different combinations but nothing works. Makes me think that the individuals are not the problem, it's down to the coaching/organisation.
