Cheers for that, was at the game tonight and he's about right - we had loads of possession but didnt really create much, Birmingham were well organised and we lacked any real creative spark or urgency in midfield and struggled to break them down.

They're probably the best team I've seen us play this season though in terms of defensive organisation etc though and so I think just have to accept it wasn't our night.

Bring on Cardiff on Sunday!

Evertonian checking in to say hope you go up this year, you've worked hard over the past few seasons and deserve a trip up to the Prem.
Thanks, the Championship is a fun league though!

Well, we might be joining you there if we don't get more consistent.

Leeds played really well tonight. Had chances and never converted 1-

Happens. Just one of those nights. Birmingham looked tired especially second half.

Bring on Cardiff on Sunday and get the 3 points.

We've had 3 league games on Saturday and 7 on Sunday ( 5 after Thursday Europa League matches ). This will be our first midweek league game, allowing us to catch up one we'd missed from previous midweek league programs.

Going as well as I had hoped in the league for Birmingham, win on Wednesday and we are one point behind you guys with two matches in hand
The rise up the table continues apace. Not bad for such a threadbare squad , this is going to be a interesting season. CH has got the team well organised & playing far more attractive football than under the previous manager. So far so good.

Cheers. While promotion is always great, I do prefer the Championship. Every match is difficult to predict.

Good luck to Leeds today.

BTW, I think Leeds should change their badge back to this:

Hey guys,

Any ideas as to what OLC may stand for on the front of a Leeds shirt ??

Is there a player or back room staff member with those initials ?

Kinda funny now to read the interview with Rachubka that went up on the Leeds website before tonights game - http://www.leedsunited.com/news/2011...247585_2502908

Well after tonight he must surely never play for us again. I actually feel sorry for the bloke, but after 3 errors that cost us goals in the first 30 minutes and being replaced by an 18 year old at half time, whatever confidence he might still have had will surely be destroyed completely.

It just comes down the lack of investment in the squad really. A first team player gets injured/suspended and we just don't have decent back up. Which will no doubt be demonstrated further in the next few games as we try and cope without Lees in central defence after his sending off!

Thanks for that, yeah it sounds like Grayson is finally realising that Rachubka isn't up to it. Will be interesting to see if there's time to get a loan keeper in before Sunday.

In 70/71 season we had to play 18 games in 30 odd days , inc an F a CUP final and reply and a European cup semi final v Celtic , so makes me laugh how some people complain about fixture pile ups today and that was with a Squad of about 16 , players had to play with knocks and in some cases with pain killing injections at ht as well

Yeah great result today, good way to bounce back from midweek and a decent performance as well considering we had Alex McCarthy coming in as keeper and had Kisnorbo and O'Brien in central defence and neither have been playing much recently.

We dealt with Leicester without too many problems, lacked a bit of invention going forward ourselves so neither team created many chances but it was a fantastic strike from Adam Clayton to win it.

Always good to get a result against Leicester as well as they've been a bit of a bogey team for us over the years.
