Interesting press conference as supposedly Warnock had a meeting with Bates earlier this week to discuss plans for next season, and based on what he's now saying it gives the impression that:

- Warnock is determined to stay on next season and give it a proper go (which I wasn't sure he would given how badly things have gone this season since he's been in charge), and
- he seems confident that he will have the resources he needs to overhaul the squad (had to be a big question mark over that given Bates past record).

So we'll see what happens over the next few months. A key early indication as to whether things are going to go the way Warnock hopes will be whether Snodgrass agrees to the new contract and so will still be around next season.

Cheers for that, as ever Warnock talks a good game but given what we've seen at the club in recent years, I'll believe all this talk about investing in the squad etc when it actually happens.

Frustrating as we've gone backwards this season, but it's just a case of waiting to see what happens over the summer now.

I don't think Neil Warnock would be as soft as Grayson with the bearded one so must be something in it with the promising of funding in the summer.

Yeah, I don't think Warnock would be talking about next season the way he is if he didn't believe he was going to get the backing he needs.

Roll on the summer anyway, we shall see!

Not quite old enough to remember that myself, but it does bring home yet again (as if we needed it) how much things have changed...

Hard to forget a game where our fans were ripping up seats and chucking them over my head.

Yeah but when the referee vists the german dressing room before the game, and chats on the pitch thoughout , then disalows a goal , after he gave it, not to mention, the fact he Never refered another game and there were strong rumours that he retired on german marks , you could say we were robbed , but having said that there were all sorts of other rumours as well which still persist 38 years on and Jonny giles has plenty to say in his book on it as well
