I think the key difference with Warnock is that he has a very clear idea on the type of players he wants.

With Grayson I sometimes got the impression he was signing players almost for the sake of it (because, to be fair, his options were so limited) but without ever really having a clear idea on how they would fit in to his team/formation - so players like Nunez, Varyryryryren, Sam, Paynter, Forsell, even McCormack initially didn't get games because they didn't fit in to the way we played or were too similar to other players already in the squad.

We ended up having to change the way we played to suit the players in the squad, whereas I think Warnock will be much more about changing the squad to suit the way he wants to play.

asked him again few months back and said with what happened to Leeds would you have taken the cl, he said yes but we wouldnt have ended up like Leeds

With hindsight, had Leeds had Not quailfied for the cl, but won 3 trophies where would we be now , hard to say but i doubt we would have got into the debts we did

Was thinking about this given some of the other threads here about the value of the FA Cup vs qualifying for the Champions League, and tbh looking back now I'd definitely take winning 3 trophies over finishing 3rd.

Was talking to a bloke whos a sports journalist based on Leeds on friday (although to be fair he doesnt generally follow Leeds news, he's more of a cricket journalist) and said he'd heard that takeover talks with a Canadian consortium were ongoing but didn't know any more detail, said that the club were notoriously secretive about what went on behind the scenes anyway.

I was simply replying to the OP's claim and his time frame. I would not count 3 trophies in a ten year period as 'total dominance'. Manchester United managed to throw in a European cup win in that time too.
